We (party of 4) arrived at 8:15. We had a 45 minute to an hour wait under the name Love. When the hostess sat us, she threw our menus on the table as we were being seated, and said, “y’all enjoy”. We waited about 20+ minutes, while eating chips and salsa, before the waiter even asked what we wanted to drink. When he came to the table, he said we had 2 minutes to order from the bar. It was 9:24. Our waiter was literally running between our tables at this time. Under pressure, and not knowing what to expect from our girls night, we ordered 3 pitchers of the “From Scratch” pitcher with a top shelf tequila. At 9:30, we heard a bell, but we didn’t know what it meant. We continued our night and ordered food whenever he came back with our drinks, which was about 9:40. As our night is going on, we’re still seeing people being seated throughout the restaurant. Our food came out, everybody’s food is correct except my sister’s doors. They remade hers, and brought it out about 10 minutes after she was able to make them aware. We continued our night working through our pitchers and talking. At 10:00, we hear another bell, but we’re still not knowing what it means. Our waiter asks us about splitting our checks. Immediately after they were corrected, we paid. At 10:36, two guys (a bus boy and some other guy, possibly a bus boy with a little more authority) comes to the table and tells us that they need our glasses. We explain to them that we’re still working on our drinks, and they insist that they need them RIGHT NOW because the restaurant is closed. We try to hurry and gulp our drinks, while they wait impatiently and tell us to hurry up, which I tell them that if I leave their establishment and have a wreck, that I will sue the ish out of them. The bus boy with no authority tells me that he doesn’t care; he just needs the glass. We give them our glasses, and then they tell us that they need the table. I tell the bus boy with the authority to give me a box, and he doesn’t budge because, he wants to make me say “please”. I constantly tell him that I need a box, which he responds with “please”, and doesn’t move. He eventually brings me a box. At some point throughout this ordeal, I ask them why didn’t they tell us this bell ringing deal and their rules before that sat us, and the bus boy with no authority said that it was posted on the door. I asked, “Where, and what did it say?”. He said that it’s posted on the door what time they close and that you can’t have any drinks after that time. The doors were opened and welcoming when we got there, so we couldn’t see what could have been posted outside on them. The bus boy with authority, threatened to call the police on us for not giving them the glasses right then and left as if was calling the police after bringing me the box. El Agave had grown to be one of my favorite restaurants because of the food and drinks, but I will never be back again, and if you are considering bringing your family or friends, I would advise you to seek a place that would appreciate your money and provide you...
Read moreI gave this place 3 stars for the following reasons: It took over an hour to be seated eventhough they kept telling us we are cleaning tables. Once we were seated it took another 10 minutes for drink orders. When the water was brought out, there was salsa in the water- asked for clean water was told, " we dont have any clean glasses at the moment-it will be a moment. Never got the water There menu misrepresents what you are actually getting. We ordered the rice bowl (steak, shrimp, chicken on top of rice with queso cheese on top). We received a plate (different portion sizes, some had cheese & some did not) the veggies was not bell peppers or onions instead it had broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini and carrots which was not listed on the menu. No drink refills!!!! The floor was slippery and the bathrooms were disgusting! One person in our party did not receive their food at all. This place did not offer to-go cups for drinks which included alchohol ... you couldn't get a to go cup of any type of drink if drinks with alcohol was still on the table. (We had a couple people that were leaving before others but couldn't get a to go coke because everyone hadn't finished their margaritas. They sit large parties together in the same space (way too loud) so if you have a party of 10 you will be in the same space with another large party. I believe this overwhelmed our server. The servers attitudes were not that pleasant and asking for additional items like napkins, water, refills or extra sauce/cheese was a great inconvenience.
We have passed this place several times and kept saying we would try it... well once was enough for us... I believe everyone has an off day but this was way too much.. This was my experience, yours may be better. I only took a picture of one drink because the food was too...
Read moreI regret to express dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit. Upon arriving to pick up my Togo order, I observed a lack of acknowledgment despite multiple servers passing by. When finally attended to, the server omitted a greeting and promptly stated my total. Notably, the total exceeded the lunch menu prices available online. Regrettably, the server conveyed an unwillingness to honor the online prices, citing outdated information.
Seeking resolution, I requested to speak with the manager, and relayed my encounter with the aforementioned server, who exhibited a discourteous attitude. Disappointingly, the manager's response was dismissive, suggesting that if I were dissatisfied, I should refrain from returning. His exact words were “if you don’t like the service then don’t come back.” And I will take his advice and never return here! Consequently, I have decided not to patronize this establishment in the future.
I find it concerning that an individual with such a lack of customer service skills, exemplified by Ricardo, is entrusted with managerial responsibilities. As an alternative, I recommend Maria's Cantina, located less than two minutes away, which consistently provides exceptional customer service and delectable cuisine. If superior food and service are your priorities, I encourage you to consider Maria's as an alternative...
