Terrible Experience. I called ahead to confirm steak and lobster special. Lady taking the call said, yes. I drive all the way there to be told special is over. Waitress sent the manager to the table because I told her I called before coming and was told yes, special is still available. Manager comes to say special ended last week. I told him I called to inquire before taking the long drive. I was told yes. He acted like I didn't call. I showed him the call on my phone at 4:28. He went to ask person answering calls. He comes back and says she didn't tell me yes it was still available. So, basically, I take that as he's calling me a liar. He says it's a miscommunication. I told him no it isn't. It's a simple question with only two ways to answer, yes or no. No miscommunication on my part. He says he's going to go ahead and honor the special but it's over. I said OK. He continues to repeat himself. I said I heard you. I told him he could leave the table so I can try to have a pleasant time. He said he didn't like my attitude. I didn't like his either. I told him he was repeating himself and it's no need, to just leave the table. Again he doesn't like my attitude. Well just leave my table. He's repenting himself. He finally leaves. I told my birthday grandson we're leaving. I no longer wanted to eat there, special or no special. We're leaving and the manager comes back to the table where I'm answering the question the lady at the next table asked me. I told him yes, we're leaving. We're going to another restaurant. I wasn't going to enjoy myself there after such an incident. You don't have to call someone a liar using the word. It's implied when you say abruptly that your employee says she didn't tell me you still have the advertized special. You confirmed that I called when she said she didn't tell me yes. Frankly, I don't trust eating somewhere I've had a dispute with staff. I sure take offense at indirectly being called a liar. He should have called his employee a liar. He should have apologized for the misinformation his staff member gave to me and been pleasant about it. I know specials don't last forever. That's why I call as I ponder where to...
Read moreUpdate: was back at outback again tonight. We had Kelley who is one of the best servers here. We were about to sit in someone else's section but when I saw her we requested her. It added 15 min to our wait but it was worth it. She is an exemplary server. Quick service, makes you feel important, apologetic if things are a little slow, constant refills, attentive, and very friendly. You should request her too!
I was at the Outback in Southaven, MS last night. Our experience was pretty great! My food was very good and my filet was cooked perfectly. My daughter's food was also perfect, we both ate every bite. I got a rib eye meal to go for my fiance and requested that the steak be rare, super rare, barely cooked... I told them he would actually eat it raw, so just seared on each side. I made the mistake of not checking before we left and when we got home the steak was way more cooked than he liked it. I called them and the manager (whose name I am not sure of maybe Sheena) was very nice and accommodating and told me I could have a gift card sent to me for the amount, or I could come in tomorrow and get another meal. She put me on hold for a moment and then asked how far away I was because even though they were closing she could have the cook make me another steak now and we opted for that option. The second steak was cooked perfectly and the manager brought it out to us in the to go orders parking area. She apologized again and said that she was personally sure this steak was as rare as could be. She was right, it was perfect and he loved it. Our waiter while we ate in was fantastic as well. It was obvious he wasn't feeling well (seemed like allergies) but he did an amazing job and I saw him actually jogging back to the kitchen twice. He kept our drinks filled and checked on us often. We will definitely go there again. His name was Cyle. I will include a picture...
Read moreGo somewhere else! Hair found in two different plates. Dirty bowls with our served food in them. It was all sent back. Salad plates and extra glasses never removed throughout our time there. We had to stack plates, bowls and glasses and work our way around them as we ate. As we were waiting on the check, I witnessed a waitress wipe two tables down, that a large group had just left from, with dry black table napkins after being handed a bottle of spray from another waitress to clean them. She never used it and wiped up what appeared to be salad dressing or some type of sauce all over the table with the dry cloth. She then placed the salt and pepper back on each table. She came back with silverware wrapped in napkins to set the table for the next customers and I couldn't stand it anymore longer and called her out. She walked away and I asked another waitress for the manager. In the meantime the hostess brought people over to be seated at those dirty tables. I spoke up and told her what had just happened. The people were taken to another table. Thank goodness, they had twin babies that we're seated in high chairs and their little hands would have been all over that nasty table!! When the manager came I told her everything. She really didn't seem to care from her expression and the fact that she said ..ok and that's it! She ended up comping our check for half of the total, which I did not ask for. Our server had already taken our card before I spoke with her and we were waiting on him to return before she ever came to speak to me.
All in all, I would say find another place to eat if you are in this area!! Poor service, hairs in food, nasty dishes and tables are not cleaned correctly. I think a surprise visit from the health department would maybe open the...
