If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went online and made reservations for 6 to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Purposely chose an establishment that accepted reservations so we wouldn't have a long wait. Got a text the day before my reservation to confirm the reservation. Got another text 2 hours prior to my reservation saying that it had been cancelled because they don't accept reservations on the weekend, when clearly it allowed me to make one. So I called the restaurant and the hostess answers the phone, "Akita". No how may I help you? Just "Akita", so I'm like ok....I was calling because I had a reservation for this afternoon at 3:30, but received a text saying that it was cancelled. The young lady said that they don't take reservations on the weekend, so I said why did it allow me to make it online if you don't accept them? She says she doesn't know. So I was telling her that I had planned to have my party there at 3:30, because we made reservations. In the middle of my sentence, she hung the phone up in my face! I called back and she didn't answer. That was totally unacceptable, so I drove up there and asked to speak to the manager. He was at the host station when I got there, and I explained to him what happened. He also tried to explain that they don't accept reservations on the weekend. I told him that I was able to make the reservation online, so it's not my fault that their system is not updated, and they need to fix it. He said that I could put my name on the wait list and he would get us seated. I told him that whomever I spoke to when I called, hung up the phone in my face. He asked the girl who was answering the phones did she hang up in my face and she said yes because she didn't like my "tone". Not one time did I raise my voice or use foul language on the phone. I was explaining to her that I was allowed to make the reservation online and that I had made plans with my party to be there. As a representative of the business, she should have 1) heard me out and listened to everything I had to say, whether she felt I had a bad "tone" or not. 2) If she didn't have the power or didn't want to resolve my issue, it should have been escalated 3) If you don't know how to properly answer the phone and deal with what you think is a "difficult" customer, you definitely don't need to be on the phones taking calls. So to add insult to injury, she tries to defend herself because she didn't like my "tone" and kept talking to me disrespectful using foul language. The manager is just standing there letting this happen. Her other Co worker trying to say that she apologized, but I heard the manager apologize, but not her and yet she keeps talking, being disrespectful. This was the worst display of customer service that I have experienced in my 20+ years living in Desoto County. I was allowed to get on the wait list and told them that I would be back at the time of my reservation, but after leaving, I decided that I did not want to patronize a business that is so disrespectful to its customers. Just a word of advice to this business, #1- don't punish customers for your mistakes. The communication about the reservation should have been made immediately after it was received, not 2 hours before the reservation. Is this what y'all do every weekend??? If so, that is a horrible customer experience..Also, be careful who you allow to be the face of your business ( answer your phones). You never know who might be calling or trying to patronize your business. Being disrespectful to someone who has connections and influence can be detrimental to the future success of your business. I will never again step foot through those doors and will advise me friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, to do the same. Based on what I saw today, I'm sure you don't care that you've lost a customer, but I hope that you have at least learned from this situation that your customer service can make or break you, and today you...
Read moreOk, so I went for someone's bday celebration and this was my first time here. HIGHLY disappointed! The best thing for you to do is order to go because the food is good. We sat down and the waitress asked us what would like to order to drink for now, water? I said yes, but I would like an alcoholic beverage, which I already knew what I wanted, but she cut me off saying, "I know, but would you like water?" I said yes, and then she still proceeded to the next person and did the same to them as if we could only order water for now. Then, they never returned to take our drink orders. So we went to the bar temporarily so we can get our own drinks. We ordered the drinks and that took another 30 minutes because the bartender was going in and out of the bar for some reason. Only to return and say, we have your orders, and your waitress will bring it to the table. So we went back to the table where we waited another 15min for her to return just to ask us what we would like to drink when the bartender already told us they have our drink orders and the waitress will bring it out. Keep in mind while all of this is going on, we still have yet to get the food we ordered, salad, soup, nothing! So we put in our drink orders again and waited. Waited another 15 minutes. At this point it is now an hour at the restaurant and we have not received drinks nor food. Only water. I had to wave my hand to flag my waitress down to remind her of our drinks that we see sitting at the bar waiting for retrieval. And my sister had to flag her down because we still hadn't received soup nor salad. Fast Forward, the hibachi chef came, he was nice but super quick and short. Like that's all 🤷🏾♀️. Anywho, the bathroom was horrendous..I.E I used a gas station bathroom instead. Then they mopped the floor towards the only exit and told everyone to be careful. It was puddles of water and we were all slipping to get out. Talk about a law suit waiting to happen. Like did you even squeeze the mop out?! Oh and my jack and coke tasted like a house whiskey so I sent that back. Safe to say I will never be returning. This needs addressing fast! And this was only a Tuesday , not a packed...
Read moreMy absolute favorite resturant but I would like to add my experience about my last visit. On yesterday my friend treated me out to Akitas in Southaven MS, after making it back home from deployment. Prior to us arriving to the restaurant I checked the local flavor website. There was only 1 offer shown for 30.00 worth of cuisine drinks or habachi for 15.00, I selected the item and paid for it. It emailed the voucher shortly after the purchase, I never opened it because I wasn't sure if it was time sensitive. After asking for our carry-outs I gave the waitress my phone to open the coupon and apply it. I could hear the manager tell her they can't take it because it's not theirs. The waitress then called me over and explained that age could not apply it, I asked why and the manager Tony who was taking shots of alcohol at the back bar got very loud and aggressive with me constantly telling me this is not us! I asked him how was I suppose to know when all it said was akitas. He stood up in my face (smelling like strong liquior) and said it again. I asked was it something he could do to accomadate us since we purchase a coupon that he said we could use, he said forget it, I asked him had he been drinking, he told me yes he had 2 shots but he was grown! I asked to speak to an assistant manager, she said her name was Amie but also followed along with what Tony said. They never apologized or tried to make our visit memorable or pleasant. A young Male named Josh asked to see the voucher I took screenshots of how we got the coupon. We entered in Southavens zip code and the coupon appeared. He said wow I don't understand and stated he was sorry. I'm truly disgusted that they can treat a 1st customer who had just made it back home like we meant nothing, didnt even offer an apology. Instead everyone from the same culture stood around watches and spoke in their own language about what was happening! We spent 50.00 and lost another 15.00 because we purchased a coupon for their restaurant that was...
