I really hate to do this, because I have NEVER felt compelled to give any business a bad review. However, our experience was just absolutely terrible. We had a reservation of 20 people in a small party room for a birthday brunch. Upon arrival, everyone was showing up at different times and ordering things as we waited, so those plates coming up at different times was expected.
However, once we all decided to order our meals is when everything started going wrong. One lady came in and we started ordering with her, but she didn’t have a pad or pen to write our orders down. When our server came in, she went around and supposedly got each individual order after being told some orders from the previous lady. Everyone waited about 30 minutes before plates slowly started coming out. There was a man bringing in plates & yelling out what they were. So many orders were wrong that we just started accepting whatever they brought after an hour of waiting because we were all hungry. The birthday girl didn’t even get her food.
The server came 45 minutes into waiting to tell one of the ladies in our party that what she ordered wasn’t available. She ordered something different and was promised it would be rushed. When we asked 15 minutes later about it, the server was EXTREMELY rude and snappy about it. Another lady in our party pointed out that her order was wrong, and the server told her that it was her fault because she told her the wrong order, which is not true because multiple ladies in our party heard what she ordered. Our server was EXTREMELY rude multiple times to multiple ladies. I understand big parties can be stressful, but we were bending over backwards to be nice and understanding.
At the end of it all, the lady who had to change her order waited an hour and a half for her food to come and was told that our reservation was up and she would have to eat outside the room or take it to go. The server touched her food WITH HER HANDS when placing the order in the to go box. Again, I have NEVER EVER given a bad review to any business because I believe everyone has bad days. However, the attitudes of all the staff we encountered were just simply unnecessary and unacceptable. I understand stress, especially on busy days with big parties. No one in our party was being rude or demanding, and we were all very understanding but were not treated the same. The place has potential but none of us, out of the 20 people there, will...

My husband took me and my 3 children here for Mother’s Day, and was one of 3 tables sat in the entire restaurant. We ordered our food, and proceeded to wait. After close to 20 minutes, my husband got his food. Which was fine - but typically, you don’t bring out one plate at a time. Especially when there is kids? You would at least only bring their food out if anything. So. Not thinking much - We sat and waited from that point. Another 10 or so minutes go by, and my food comes out. Another 5 or so minutes goes by, and my grits come out. Another 5 minutes and my side of eggs comes out. We’re watching all the tables around us get their food in it’s entirety, and we’re getting a side item here and there - and obviously not eating our food because our young children haven’t received anything at all.
Finally after my husband’s and my food has sat on the table for a solid 20 minutes - ONE of our children’s eggs comes out?
We waited and waited, my kids are getting upset - we’ve fed them a lot of our food at this point, we stopped someone to ask where the rest of our food is and was met with “oh it all hasn’t come out?”. Nothing outside of the side of eggs for one of of my children had even been made at that point.
My food’s cold. My husband’s remaining food is cold. When I finally stopped a manager to tell her about our experience - she only offered to make my husband and mine’s food again so that it would be warm?
We had sat at the table for well over an hour at this point - the last thing we wanted to do was wait LONGER to eat. So she offered to refund our plates. Whatever. We ate our cold food, gave the babies there’s and got out.
I realize it’s Mother’s Day and from working in restaurants - this day is particularly busy and overwhelming for establishments - but seeing others around us get their meals and pay long before we got everything on our table was crazy, and flat out inexcusable. The ball was dropped. We didn’t come in in the thick of rush hour either - we were one of the first tables there!
From this experience I can’t say enough to anyone thinking about trying this place out - there are plenty of other places close by to try before going here.
A lesson in getting the very basics of serving tables and timely ordering down...
Read moreMy family and I went here for brunch on a Saturday morning. We had a reservation for a party of 15 at 11:00 but we were not seated until 11:30. The server took our drink order, then food, and our food was delivered at 12:15-12:30pm. The server was nice and even though she put in the wrong order for one of my kids (berry French toast instead of berry pancakes), the correct order was ready quickly.
I ordered the morning trio (2 poached eggs, 3 pcs turkey bacon, 1 pc toast), husband ordered chicken Berry salad, kids ordered berry pancakes and chicken salad sandwich.
Overall we thought the food was good. Everything was cooked as it should have been and was flavorful. However, we felt like it was very overpriced for the portions. Our bill was $72 for these four dishes, one chocolate milk, and a lemonade. The salad dressing (house Italian) tastes like it had added sugar, and the lemonade was too sweet (per the kids). Husbands salad had MAYBE 3oz chicken and 2 strawberries (and 6 grapes - I know because I ate them). My trio alone was $13. While I do expect to pay for convenience and service, I could have made this same breakfast at home for $1.50. We all left hungry and ate again when we got home - very uncharacteristic of us!!
The cafe seemed to want to project an upscale vibe, but the "private room" we sat in was white walls, no decorations, not even place settings upon our arrival. Literally tables and chairs. It felt more like a back storage room where they put extra tables and chairs in and OH HEY we have a large party so let's put them in there. The room wasn't set up for our party, and we literally stood in the middle of the room for several minutes because we were sure what to do. Do we set this up ourselves or.... ?
It might seem petty, but it mismatched the front of the restaurant and immediately killed the "nice restaurant" feeling. And with the price of the meals, it would have been nice to walk into the room with silverware on the table and glasses for water. Instead it was big, industrial clear plastic cups you get at Mexican restaurants and rolled up paper napkins.
I will happily pay for a nice meal, but given all of the above, we felt like this was a disappointment and likely...
