So after doing some adulting and needing lunch, I saw dickey and flipped a u turn to go grab lunch there since the food use to be amazing and the misses had never had it and I’ve been telling her she should try it. Pulled up to the drive thru to order and sat there for a while and didn’t hear anyone on the speaker so we pulled forward and went in. The store was dead. Not a soul in sight. After standing at the counter for what felt like a eternity someone finally appeared from the back. Awesome right, nope. They were out of almost everything would of been nice to be warned so I could of got lunch from someplace else, but at last hindsight is 20/20. Couldn’t get the pork so I went with the brisket meal. I wanted a sandwich fries and drink, well they were out of fries also so had to settle for potato salad. The whole time I was ordering the employee was rude and not paying any attention, I should of taken that as a sign to go somewhere else but I was already there so I placed the order. It Came out to just shy of 18$ after tax, which normally would fine for a bbq place lunch, keyword normally (see pic) the amount of food for the price is horrible. Well the misses and I waited for them to make the food which took over 15 minutes to make a single sandwich. They employee came out and brought the sandwich and potato salad and said he would be back with the drink cup. He instead returns with 2 children size cups and says they’re also out of stock of cups. At this point I’m fairly heated what was supposed to be a quick lunch stop had turned into a 40 minute ordeal. So we go to get the drinks and leave. Nope out of stock again only beverage option they had was lemonade and coke. Honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and we eat out a few times a week. 0/10 would never recommend dickeys to anyone anymore, should of went...

Visited the drive-thru at Dickey's in Spokane Valley last Sunday. First, there was a sign on the speaker that said it was broken, please drive to the window. Ordered at the window and gave them my debit card. Employee came back 15 minutes later and said they were having technical difficulties, he thinks he charged my card three times. But no food yet. 10 minutes later another employee comes to the window and says they are having technical difficulties and can't make my food. OK, I've been in the drive-thru for almost half an hour, you charged my card 3 times, why can't you make my food? She says our printer is broken and they don't know what I ordered. Funny, I gave my order verbally to the other employee. I tell her my order again and get my food about 10 minutes later. I ask about the overcharges on my card and she says THEY CAN'T HELP ME? I can wait for the manager who is on their way to the store. I wait, another 15 minutes, talk to the manager who says she fixed the overcharges but can't give me a receipt because the printer is broken?
The next day I look at my bank account and the three charges are still there. I call the restaurant, and their other location in town every day for three days and am promised it will be taken care of. It was not. I called Dickey's corporate customer service and told them. Still no reversal of the overcharges. Finally I called my bank.
Almost an hour wasted in the drive-thru. Obviously no other customers, does this surprise anyone who has read this so far?
And the food wasn't even that good. I have been in the hospitality business my entire life, and I understand the challenges this industry is facing. But the way this situation has played out has nothing to do with challenges, it is just...
Read moreAs someone who lived in Dallas for quite a few years, I've found it difficult to find GOOD, authentic barbecue here in the Spokane area. I was happy to find Dickey's here in the area, and tried the north side location. Sad and disappointed. NOT what I had come to know and love living in Dallas. Tried the valley location after I was able to get over the disappointment of the north location. WINNER WINNER, BBQ CHICKEN DINNER! THAT'S the Dickey's I know and love! Totally worth the price and the minor wait time to get QUALITY barbecue. Keep it up.
Update: As a totally satisfied customer of the Spokane Valley Dickey's, having actually MET Roland Dickey in Texas and had his actual brand of BBQ, I can say that this location is the real deal. They subscribe to the Dickey's BBQ philosophy and stand behind the original vision of Roland. Chris, franchise owner, has taken the reins of this restaurant and held onto the vision of Roland Dickey and brought Texas to Spokane. If you've tried the North-side Dickey's and been disappointed, just give them a moment and a second chance. North Spokane and Coeur d'Alene, your true Dickey's is coming! Their ownership and management has changed recently and will be bringing you the TRUE AND AUTHENTIC Dickey's Texas Barbeque in the VERY near future without having to go to the Valley location. My only complaint would be, bring back the buttered bread machine! That really made the sandwiches! As of 12/15/23, I have it on good authority that the north side Dickey's is now up to Roland's standards, so go give them a try or another try if you've been disappointed by...
