Wouldn't recommend almost $60 for 2 and not good. We were hoping this place would be good since we liked Kokoro ramen so much but this place is awful. They did fix the smell that was in the restaurant previously. Anyway, my husband got the beef katau ramen and I got the habitchi shrimp and filet mignon. I ordered taro tea and my husband got the ramune melon soda. The taro tea did not taste good it was very bland and had bits in the bottom of it and I ordered it without the boba. The katau came out first, my husband tried to take a bite of it and it was so dry and gristly and was falling out of the batter and it wasn't cooked at a high enough temp as the oil coated the inside on the meat. When his ramen came out he tried the broth and it was sad to say the least; it didn't taste anything like beef broth more like veggie broth. It didn't have any flavor. He tried to eat the ramen and the noodles were so stiff that they were retaining their brick like shape. The only toppings for the ramen was two halves of one egg. The food I received was slightly burnt. The meat was cooked well but it wasn't filet mignon that's for sure there was fatty pieces throughout. I ordered the chicken fried rice and there was no chicken just soy sauce all though out and a few bits of egg. I couldn't even eat it because it was so salty. When checking out we let them know about the issues with the food and they offered a discount. That's the only reason for the 3stars under service, otherwise there wasn't much...
Read moreI'm pretty sure this is just a rebranding of the old Kokoro Ramen restaurant... And it's seems that little has changed.
First... Don't use the reusable chopsticks in the cups on the table... When we where there, it looked like people were putting used chopsticks back in the cups with the unused chopsticks. Only use the disposable chopsticks, wrapped in paper.
Having the dishes out on the table, between multiple customers, might work in super-polite Japan. But as we all know, Spokane is a very long way away from Japan.
Second... Just don't eat here at all. You don't need to. This restaurant is most likely a rebranded Kokoro Ramen. Kokoro had bland food, and Little Tokyo is bland as well.
We tried the Beef Ramen with Beef Katsu, the Takoyaki, Boba Tea, Bento Box with chicken katsu, Sweet Potato Tempura, and the Martebek.
The beef Ramen was bland, no spice, and the beef was extremely tough (maybe round steak?). It was obviously cheap meat.
The Takoyaki was average... But Sushi.com is better.
The Boba tea was average. Bocopop in Liberty Lake is far superior for Boba.
The Bento was bland, flavorless, and forgettable. The salad was kinda pathetic with cheap noodles, imitation krab, and some flavorless dressing.
The sweet potato tempura was tough and undercooked.
The Martebek tasted exactly how you'd imagine beef, eggs, and shallots to taste, if you also added no seasonings whatsoever.
Overall, this is a place you can skip and you'll miss out on nothing. The food is bland and...
Read moreFirst time I came here, I was with two friends. The ramen broth? Delicious. We were hyped. The boba was a miss, but the server was super chill and replaced it, which I appreciated. One of our orders got mixed up (no biggie, it happens), but my friend didn’t want to say anything because they didn’t want to be “that customer.” Then… my chicken katsu had a fried-in hair. Yeah. Lost my appetite real quick after that.
Still, I thought hey—everyone has an off day. So I gave it another shot and came back with my family, plus Spokane food finder kept hyping it up. This time the broth tasted like it got into a fight with the faucet and lost. I’ve had better flavor from a Cup Noodles at 2 a.m. My family liked their food enough to finish most of it, my mom agreed with me about their broth. Taste is subjective. Everything will always be a hit or miss.
Also, if it’s cold or windy outside, prepare to get hit with an arctic blast when someone opens the door. Bring a sweater or risk instant regret.
Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be back. The cooks look like awesome nice people, but I think you’d have better chances getting Vietnamese pho or ramen...
