We went to Outback last night to meet my daughter's boyfriend. It was a disappointing time. My husband ordered Chicken Marsalla ($15.99) with vegetables. He received a plate with a typical size portion of vegetables, they were fresh and thankfully had good flavor, however, the chicken was a plain breast on the plate with no flavor. There was a small dish of barbecue sauce on the plate next to the chicken. When asked about the Marsalla, the server said, oh, sorry - I didn't know they were out of Marsalla in the kitchen so I gave you barbecue sauce. Would you like a vinaigrette instead? so my husband took that - which was very awful. Unfortunately, we were meeting my daughter's boyfriend for the first time and didn't want to send food back to the kitchen, but the better approach would have been if the server said, "I am sorry we are out of Marsalla, would you like to make a different selection?" Instead of giving my husband a tasteless piece of bland chicken and dollop of barbecue or vinaigrette. He definitely would have ordered a different meal that had flavor. When we got the bill, it had the Marsalla on the check - we were charged the full price for the Marsalla, again not to bring attention to it in front of the person who was our guest we were meeting a first time, I put a couple ?? next to Marsalla. Thinking maybe they would remove that from the check. The waiter came back and announced loudly enough for all the people around us to hear that he attempted to adjust the price for the chicken since I wrote the note on the check, but he had to re-run the check, and it messed up the credit card, so I needed to sign the one that showed the $124 and change, but it was really only supposed to be $122 and change. This made it difficult to know what to put for a tip since I didn't know if the amount from my card would actually be the $124 or if it was really only going to be $122. The whole thing was embarrassing and now even though I enjoy the ribeye steak, my husband will never go back to Outback Steakhouse again. First to get an inferior plate to what was ordered, then to have a lot of attention drawn to us about it, was just too much. They should not have made my husband eat the unappealing chicken, they should have offered another option - my husband is non-confrontational - and we were meeting someone the first time - so that was a...
Read moreOur server came so quick after sitting down we didn't have time to even think of drinks or appetizers and then ignored us for what seemed like forever - probably 15 minutes. We ordered bloomin mozzarella sticks which were super tasty but we think one half-full little thing of marinara is not nearly enough. Two would have been the bare minimum. We were then ignored for what seemed like another forever - we finished the mozzarella sticks before we could ask for more marinara. Drinks were okay but we weren't offered any additional ones or refills - again we were ignored far too much. At this point we had been there for about 45 mins and we were then offered the opportunity to order food. The restaurant was not particularly busy and the waitress didn't seem overly rushed. I can only assume we were a lower priority than her other tables. Our food took FOREVER to arrive. Our baked potatoes seemed like they'd been under the heat lamp forever but they tasted fine. My gf's steak was overcooked medium well when she ordered medium rare but she didn't say anything because we were so hungry. Mine was a little under cooked when I ordered medium so maybe they switched our preparation requests? It didn't matter. We were hungry enough that we just ate it rather than wait for replacements. After the food arrived we were never offered new water since we'd been there so long the water had literally gotten warm. We were never offered refills on our acholic beverages. We were largely ignored by our waitress and we sat for at least 30 mins after clearly being done with our meal for the check. At that point we had been there for over an hour and a half. She thankfully took our money quickly and we were able to leave after being there for almost two hours. I usually tip servers well but this is the first time in many years I didn't leave a tip. The store is very old, very dated with torn up seats that move around as you shift your weight. The host didn't even want to be there. He barely talked to us as we were seated and didn't even look...
Read moreDissapointed. Me and my husband went because I got a $25 gift card for my birthday that you could use at select locations. Outback was one of them, so we decided to go out on a date night. When asked what I wanted to drink I asked for their silver, well tequlia with soda. I ended up getting gold but decided to just go with it. Our two entrees came out to about $70. I got the shrimp (which was overcooked) and he got the ribeye. They got my sides wrong, which I brought to the servers attention and they changed to what I asked for. My husband asked for medium on his steak and it was pretty raw when it came to us and his sweet potato was the size of a golf ball. I almost thought it was a joke, how small it was compared to what they advertise. When we got our check I was amazed to find my cocktail was $15 and it said it was patron. I told the waitress, and the bartender had to come ask me what the problem was. I told him that I asked him for their silver, well tequila. And he apologized and said that the server said something different. He fixed it on the check and then the server came back saying that the gift card would not go through. I told her to just charge my debit card and forget about it. Then on the way home, I called the customer service on the back of the gift card and they said that there was not reason that it should not have worked and that their was indeed $25 on it. We work really hard for our money and it is hard to find the extra cash to go out, so the fact that they couldn't get our order right, or figure out how to simply redeem a gift card is really beyond my compression. The fact that the total bill was $80 for an extremely sub-par meal, we definitely won't be...
