Ambiance is a 10/10, and our drinks were 8/10 on flavor and 10/10 on appearance.
We would give this bar a 3 star because when we arrived we sat on the couch but were then asked to move because only groups larger than two people could sit there. However the rest of the night no groups came in, and by the time we left there was another couple sitting on the couch who were not asked to move. Not a big deal really, but a small annoyance.
The service was a little slow, so by the time we were approached for our orders I asked if we could order a cocktail on their signature cocktails list, but the server told me they had just shut the coffee machine down for the night. If a cocktail is a signature cocktail list I think it would be offered all day? Then after she left our table, another server brought two cups of coffee to the table next to use again, not a huge deal but just a little annoying. I think to top if off I was slightly annoyed by how long it took to get our bill afterwards, and while waiting the bartenders were taking shots behind the bar. I usually would not care about that either, but after the other annoyances I think it left a or taste in my mouth. Probably just a bag night and bag luck, but I was so excited to finally try it this place only to be a little disappointed. I might try again in the...
Read moreWe’ve been excitedly watching Emma Rue’s get ready to open from our apartment across the street. Furniture coming in, the street-facing wall being painted gold, pre-opening parties. The space looks absolutely gorgeous! We couldn’t wait to come check them out but kept waiting to go in as we figured they couldn’t possibly be open with brown paper left over from painting still hanging onto sidewalks and overhangs, boxes stacked inside, and an empty pastry case.
Turns out they have been open for a while… but there are no cocktails, no seating, and no pastries. I decided to go in and grab a coffee anyway as I was sure they would have a mean decaf flat white- my go-to since I cannot have caffeine. After being told that they have no plans to offer decaf, I was forced to walk out empty handed.
I’ll try again in a couple of months, hoping that they take the paper down, change their minds about decaf, and open with coffee, cocktails, AND pastries. Emma Rue’s, let me know when you are truly ready....
Read moreDO NOT PATRONIZE EMMA RUES Spokane, Wa. Today, I was with the freedom rally march. By the time we walked to Howard & 1st, the South east corner., I had to sit down due to prior back surgeries. There was a table and chairs outside the establishment of Emma Rues So I sat down. Another patron, young man sitting at another table outside stood up and continued to walk by me, intentionally running into my flag, while sarcastically stating, " Oh sorry, Oh sorry". The waitress came out & told me I needed to check inside with the hostess. She then said shed bring me a menu out. (The harrassment continue from the young man & lady). The waitress went inside, shortly after a man came out, approached my table, and told me, "I cant have you here, I cant have you here doing that". (My flag was visible, "ONE NATION UNDER GOD". When the man kicked me out, I realized I needed to stay with the group/ rally because of the harrassment so I left and rejoined the group. Below, my flag...
