LUMBERBEARD BREWING in Spokane, Washington, is a haven for craft beer enthusiasts seeking unique and flavorful brews. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in their diverse selection, which included the DOPE SAUCE Hazy IPA, WEST COAST IS AWESOME IPA, and DRK SZN PILSNER. Here's my review of each:
DOPE SAUCE (6.7% ABV) - Hazy IPA: The DOPE SAUCE Hazy IPA is a testament to LUMBERBEARD's commitment to pushing the boundaries of flavor. Brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Idaho Gem, and Azacca hops, this IPA delivers an explosion of tropical aromas and flavors. With notes of white peach and limeade teasing the senses, each sip unveils layers of pineapple and subtle cherry undertones. The hazy appearance adds to its allure, while the smooth mouthfeel and balanced bitterness make it a delight to savor from start to finish.
WEST COAST IS AWESOME (7.0% ABV) - IPA: True to its name, the WEST COAST IS AWESOME IPA is a celebration of bold flavors and hoppy goodness. This IPA showcases a masterful blend of Idaho 7, Citra, and Strata hops, resulting in a symphony of aromas and flavors. Aromas of tangerine and apricot greet the senses, leading to a palate brimming with fruity pebble dankness and a subtle yet satisfying bitterness. The beer's smooth texture and well-rounded profile make it an instant favorite among IPA enthusiasts, while its refreshing finish leaves you craving for more.
DRK SZN PILSNER (4.9% ABV): For those seeking a departure from the hop-forward offerings, the DRK SZN PILSNER provides a welcome respite with its supremely flavorful profile. Despite its dark appearance, this pilsner surprises with its light and easy-drinking character. Notes of dark fruits, cacao, and coffee dance on the palate, creating a rich and complex flavor profile that captivates with each sip. The beer finishes with a clean mineral edge, leaving a lasting impression of satisfaction.
In conclusion, my experience at LUMBERBEARD BREWING was nothing short of exceptional. With a diverse lineup of brews that cater to a range of palates, coupled with a laid-back ambiance and friendly service, it's no wonder this brewery has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Whether you're a hophead, a fan of dark brews, or simply looking to explore the world of craft beer, LUMBERBEARD BREWING is a destination worth...
Read moreTheir beer is really great, crisp, clean and we were really impressed by the beer. And we have been there a few times because their beer is so good. The reason for the four stars and not for the five is because the place is just so sterile feeling and it's not even inviting. There's hardly a thing on the walls and it just feels like four walls with a bunch of chairs. If it wasn't for the great beer, we would really not even enjoy ourselves in there. I just wish that they would do something to make the place feel a little more warm and welcoming. I almost was going to give it three stars because I have to say that the staff is not very welcoming. We have been there twice and once was a female and once was a male in both times they just sat behind the counter on their phones the whole time. One time we were the only people in that place almost the entire time we were there and they never once walked out from behind the counter to ask if we wanted it another beer and they just sat there on their phones like we weren't even there. We had this both times we were there from two different employees. We were quite turned off by that. Having a staff that makes us feel welcome an interacts with us is almost just as important as a quality of the beer and this place did not have that. We will come here again one or two more times but if we feel like they are not interested in having us here, we will probably move on. Hopefully they change this because their beer is really really good...
Read moreMy friend and I came in during restaurant week and went in prepared to spend $35 each. We were not greeted by anyone and the lady who took our order was rude. Our pretzel bites were accompanied with a HAIR in the cheese and we brought it to the waiters attention very gracefully and said it was fine and continued our meals. We sat there for another 30 minutes waiting for our next course and the time only went up as we moved along. We were annoyed but trying to make the most of our experience annd our cards were charged with only $20, thinking we had gotten some sort of comp for finding a long ass hair. We had been ignored with only 2 other tables in the whole building being sat. With no direction as to where to go when we finished, we left with no one saying a word only to find out they charged our card $45 EACH because we hadn’t closed our tab though there was no indication as to what we were supposed to do. After numerous phone calls to the restaurant they claimed we had each left a tip though I can tell you right now, neither of us tipped. Eat their frozen tasting food with caution and make sure you close your tab or they give themselves...
