I grew up in Spokane and Kay's had always been my spot I was out of town and haven't been there in over a year we went there tonight and it must be under new ownership because it is HORRIBLE the worst service kid told me I could get water out of the machine but if I wanted ice I'd have to buy a bottle of water which is arrowhead cheap as water then the vaccine wasn't even working he said well if you want water buy one had to ask him to fill my cup up in their sink which felt like a problem then it took over an hour for us to get our food and they went even busy when he brought the food over he asked if we could sub out fried rice for white or it was going to be another 20 minutes then ee didn't even get what we ordered he argued with me telling me he swares we ordered what we didn't so 30 minutes later we finally got the food which was horrible not the same I had my granddaughter with me so I asked for a straw so she could drink her water he laughed and said we don't have straws not sure who bought this place but Shame on you for ruining a Spokane landmark and selling expensive crap under there old name oh and there was 3 of us almost 70 dollars without pops or water and the portions were about half the size...
Read moreI read a review about the almond chicken being delicious... So my wife and I had to try it... So we drove all the way from Airway Heights not knowing what kind of place we would find... Unbeknownst to us what appeared to be a mere ordinary teriyaki place... But time would only tell, until I opened the door for my wife, and our senses were over stimulated with delicious scents... The staff was beyond awesome... My wife and I ordered and sat at a booth expecting our name or number to be called and we would have to go get our food... That was not the case... Instead, we were greeted by the hostess with complimentary 4 cream cheese rangoons (best i have ever had) and 2 bowls of egg drop soup... It was an awesome unexpected surprise, that did not get over looked... The next part is the main entree's... My wife and I got a combo dinner plate each, roughly $16-$18 a plate and 2 pops... About $42 for 2 people which is a very good price for the quantity of food, quality of food, and what set it apart from others like it, the quality of service... I think Spokane and surrounding areas has a new greatest teriyaki place ever... And that Kay's Teriyaki Plus!!! Woot woot!!! Thank you for an...
Read moreI had high hopes when I stopped by this Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was far from great. To start, it took a while to even place my order as the staff seemed preoccupied. I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, fried rice, egg drop soup, and an egg roll. When I opened my to-go box, I found both Sweet and Sour Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken—an order mix-up—and there wasn’t nearly enough sweet and sour sauce for the chicken. Instead of fried rice, I received steamed rice with a few vegetables in it.
The atmosphere was equally disappointing. The place was cold—so much so that the woman taking orders was wearing a coat—and upon looking around, the restaurant didn’t appear very clean.
Overall, the experience fell flat in every category: food quality, service, and atmosphere. I won’t...
