Before I found DSB I would go to other bakeries in town which were all so mediocre compared to drago sisters! I would either be waiting in line for a pre made cake because the bakeries didn’t have time to make a custom one even if called 3 weeks an advance, the most basic of cakes or were so expensive. Freeds bakery was the perfect example of this. my experiences there were horrible!
Now, Look at these incredible cakes from drago sisters! I have had them do almost every event since finding them, including my high school reunion they made over 150 cupcakes. Next they did a friends gender reveal cake, she filled inside w/ pink sprinkles, pink candy bows & sugars, when you cut into the cake they all fell out which I thought was super cute!
My aunt got my bday cake through them & it was the talk of the party, the top said “talk thirty to me” which I thought was so clever & cute, the cake not only looked like something out a magazine, but tasted incredible!
Lastly was my BFs daughters sweet 16, litterally had about 20-30 choices of cake/frostings/fillings, every person at the party said “wow this cake is great where did you get it”. So not only do their cakes look stunning but the taste is 100% on point! You don’t have to waiver anything w/ this bakery. She confirmed w/ me day before and even worked w/ my schedule on pick up as I was not able to get there until after 5pm. When she opened the box to show me I was just floored! My jaw dropped! I couldn’t have...
Read moreThis review is specifically based on the Tres Leches Cake. Here are the reasons that it's absolutely incredible and why you should try it as soon as possible.
My good foodie friend Mr. P has dubbed it as one of his very favorites when it comes to cakes/deserts and specifically requests it for special occasions. This is definitely the only bakery in the city that he would go to for this kind of cake.
I'm not usually a fan of Tres Leches Cakes, but this one won me over! It wasn't overly wet and runny consistency wise. It also was the perfect amount of sweet. I've tasted others that are not only sickeningly sweet, but have this artificial sweet flavor that is terribly unpleasant.
The slice of this cake that I tried was one that I took home from a party, put in the freezer and defrosted a week later. Not only did it maintain the way it looked - the liquids hadn't separated from the solids, it wasn't looking weird or any different at all - but it also tasted absolutely incredible. Perfect consistency and absolutely incredible flavor for not only the moist cake but from the whipped, creamy frosting as well!
This place was already on my to-do list, but I don't know that I would've tried this cake specifically. Thank goodness my foodie friends chose it for a recent celebration and now I have seen the light. I can't wait to venture to this bakery myself to have more of this cake and see what other goodies...
Read moreReview for pastries only. Bought 4, 3 excellent, 1 poor. Seven layer extraordinary. Lemon and apple pie bar very good. Cream puff, just not like it should be. The pastry is very hard and not layered flakily with a bland taste. The pastry cream is barely sweet. And the strawberries bland. Minus one star for this poor pastry. Minus one star for the cost. Very expensive-all pastries. Especially the best tasting one; Seven Layer was $6.25, and although extraordinary taste and flavor combination, it's not worth that much, in my opinion. The server was friendly and helped explain the different pastries. The store was clean. And parking right in front of the bakery is very accessible. This shopping center is big with a large variety of businesses. Access is easy from and to the I215 freeway. See my extensive photos of the four pastries I tried on my...
