Order: Cremé Brulle & Blue Lemon Price: $16 Positives: Delicious flavors, the crepe itself was cooked well, unique combinations besides the standard fruit and Nutella Negatives: The way the wrap the crepe around the filling (think like an ice cream cone) can make some of the crepes a bit cumbersome to eat, it would be awesome if they had an option to be served on a plate. tldr: Very cool place for crepes, they have a healthy range of options from the simple Nutella and fruit to super fancy stuff. They could be a bit complicated to take to go so I’d recommend eating in.
Thoughts: Vegas food, coffee, and desert stop number 3! Erin is a huge fan of crepes so when we saw a few pictures of this place we decided we had to stop in. The inside is very clean and modern and reminds me a lot of your standard ice cream shop. All the crepe options were up on the wall and the staff was very helpful in suggesting options and answering our questions.
We ended up getting the Creme Brûlée and Blue Lemon crepes, and both were fantastic. The creme brûlée was filled with delicious custard and then they caramelized the sugar on top so it had that authentic creme brûlée crunchiness to it. The custard wasn’t overly sweet and didn’t detract from the crepe itself. The Blue Lemon crepe was very light and had a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center, it was a good contrast from the warm creaminess of the creme brûlée crepe.
While I loved the crepes I did think they were a bit cumbersome to eat. The are wrapped up at an angle (like an ice cream cone) and while it made for a very attractive presentation, biting into them, especially the ice cream one, was very challenging to bite into. I wish they had a “dine in” option where you got a place and a fork and you could set it on the plate and eat it more like a traditional crepe. While I can understand that this then means they have to wash dishes, it would have made things a bit easier to eat.
We both really enjoyed What’s Crepe very much and would certainly come back if we lived in the area. If you’re into crepes they certainly have something for you. They have a wide selection of specialty crepes as well as the option to build your own with a wide selection of items. Definitely worth checking out to satisfy your...
Read moreOkay okay, I'll admit I was overestimated my cravings but overall I was not disappointed. My sister and I really enjoyed the crepes here and give that a 10/10. I would highly recommend getting ice cream with everything because why not? Treat yourself.
What's Crepe is not in the strip at all, in fact it's tucked into the suburbia of Las Vegas, about a 10 minute drive from the strip. Not a bad deal especially if you're trying to escape the scorching Las Vegas lights and tourist traps.
Nestled in a shopping plaza or strip mall is What's Crepe. What should you get here? Definitely the crepes in whatever flavor you like. I ate mine so quickly because I was looking forward to the Belgian waffle. But I was slightly disappointed with this purchase. Traditionally, Belgian waffles are sweet with crystallized sugar in the batter. This on the other hand, did not have that. I felt that the ice cream, matcha and the strawberries and mochies would save this dessert and give it the sweetness it deserved...but I was wrong. I tried to finish it but I could not. If you can, pass on the waffles especially if you're used to the sweetness that the waffle should have.
Will I be coming here again? Maybe after I try the other dessert places in Vegas. But for now, see you later...
