Absolutely awful experience - would recommend that all people of color (specifically, Black people) avoid; staff are disrespectful, unprofessional and, quite frankly, racist; after waiting 90 minutes for food that I was told would be ready in 15-20 minutes, I requested a refund - at this point, the two young men behind the front desk stated that they "didn't understand what I wanted" and appeared to suddenly be unable to understand or speak English (their decidedly American/Southern accents disappearing); when I requested to speak with a manager, they first appeared confused (again, having lost their ability to understand me) and then stated that the manager was not available; when I continued to ask for a refund and asked for the manager's name, the young men at the front desk stated that they didn't know his name and would have to ask - they then disappeared for 10 minutes; when the young man reappeared, he hand wrote an illegible name on a receipt and, refusing to speak, issued a refund; at no point was a an apology or explanation issued; as a customer that has visited previously, I've noted that only people of color are subjected to long wait times - I've seen, on numerous occasions, White people visit and receive first-class treatment (i.e. doors held open for them, warm greetings, apologies for any delays, invites to sit and offers of free drinks) ... I've tried to give this business the benefit of the doubt, but the treatment of people of color, versus White people is clear - the staff is racist; I would advise all people of color who patronize this business to cease - they clearly do not...
Read moreHere’s the rub, I called in to order mixed vegetables with beef, I never mentioned any particular size it was 7pm so I assumed there was only one size at that time of night, I ve ordered this dinner before and it came with an egg roll, so I paid extra for red sweet n sour sauce to dip the egg roll in, Now they are aware that there’s two different size dinners, the more expensive dinner doesn’t come with an egg roll and the less expensive one does come with an egg roll. So with not specifiing any size instead of them asking me what size I wanted, the lady just gave me the more expensive dinner that didn’t come with an egg roll. So when I called to ask why I didn’t get an egg roll this woman was rudely trying to brow beat me because I didn’t know about the to sizes of dinners, mind you I’m driving an ordering so I’m not looking at a menu, so that case it is incumbent upon the vendor to explain that there’s two sizes one comes with an egg roll and and one doesn’t. She was more interested in making more money by just giving me the more expensive dinner. I have many years of restaurant management experience, the food cost of one egg roll is very cheap, why would you brow beat a paying customer over one egg roll, It really shows the disrespect of These people. I would have just apologized for the situation and offered to give the customer a very inexpensive egg roll, instead they will lose out on more that just the cost of an egg roll because my family and friends will not spend our money there anymore which would amount to way more than an...
Read moreThr Great Wall is Covid friendly. They strongly suggest that you order ahead by phone, if its busy keep trying. If you order at the location, they have set it up where the menu is on the window and you order through plexy glass at the door and only one person can order at a time. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food. I got their version of the bourbon chicken. My thoughts of bourbon chicken that I have had was from the malls in America where its grilled chicken thighs in a sauce. This tasted like old chicken thighs and the sauce taste like sweet and sour SALT!!! It had a few pieces of broccoli in it and it came with fried rice. But I had to drain most of the sauce and let the rice absorb the rest of it, because it was so salty, full of soy sauce. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the egg rolls were great. But write your own story about the Great Wall Chinese Resturant and let us know...
