Wow... this hotel just needs a bit of help. It is clear that the intention is for it to be a nice, modern, sleek, & trendy place, unfortunately I was greatly disappointed after evaluating my room & the amenities available.

I researched this hotel before booking because I had never heard of this brand, the reviews made me believe this was a newly remodeled upscale hotel with excellent service. Wait, the reviews are booster reviews to make this place appear to be more than what it is.

In all reality, the hotel has an inviting look but the initial smell did not match the look. I walked into an unpleasant odor & upon entering my room I could clearly smell a mildew scent so I left (with my babies) & went to get air freshener. Nevertheless, when heading out I asked the front desk in three different ways (because I have two communication degrees) was there any evening social hour events. I honestly think the lady had multiple personalities because she awkwardly said no, we don't have anything. She said the bar is not open yet. I cleared up my question & asked did the provide anything in the evening for the guest & she said "oh no, we don't do anything, just breakfast." So I told her I didn't know so I was merely asking, then I proceeded to leave with my two babies.

Upon returning a few hours later with air freshener, I went to inspect the room & attempted to mask the horrible smell. Well it was clear that the blinds were broken in a weird spot. At the top... where guest could not reach, so I assume they got a discount on there hotel furniture & supplies from the hotel sell off events (which could explain the smell), nevertheless I took a photo.

After completing my evaluation of the room, I took my babies down with me to the lobby to use the microwave (because there is a refrigerator in the room, however no microwave). Upon exiting the elevator I could hear the AA front desk attendant pandering to a Caucasian guest & he was thanking her for providing the evening perks. (Wait... I am AA & I asked about this earlier.) Surprisingly, when I walk to the desk & notified the staff of the blinds & smell of the room, she acted like a completely different lady. I asked her again, about them offering evening perks & she tried to smile & say oh yeah we do. (Transparency is important.) This staff member is racial pandering to Caucasian guest, but denying AA the same. My babies are internationally mixed so I don't care if she wants to pander to Caucasians, but I do have a problem with the unfair treatment.

I was happy to see that management & guest services employees were minorities until I figured out they were being racist. And, I understand asking for 5 star reviews when they are deserved, yet this hotel merely has people flooding reviews that are misleading because the guest services are not that spectacular. They never answered the phone when calling the front desk & at one point, I had to walk around saying "excuse me" to find the front desk staff. On the other hand, I will recommend that guest bring air freshener, inspect their rooms, & treat this place like an extended stay hotel with no carts. (They said they have carts, yet some guest has...

We booked same night for one night, it was great!

Found this place online after leaving another hotel (not so good experience, see my other post).

Approached desk, waited a bit since it was the evening. Very kind and courteous. She told me that it was better to book through Expedia for the discounted price, which I did. Saved me over $50 that night. While checking in, an urgent situation with one of the guest came through. It involved calling police assistance, which she handled it professionally.

Checking in/out was a breeze.

Parking: Plenty of parking around hotel. Only the back door is card accessible during evenings. Front door is always open.

We were told elevators were not working that day and techs were called, so we had to take the stairs to bring our stuff to our room.

Room: smells and felt clean when walking in. Has a working TV, mini fridge hidden in the cabinet, small walk-in closet, plenty of desk space, and king size bed. Also had a Keurig coffee machine and 2 complimentary water bottles. King size bed has thick clean sheets and blankets with fluffy pillows. We almost instantly fell asleep.

Bathroom: glass shower and everything in the bathroom looks so clean and oragnize. Had shampoo and body soap ready to use in the shower.

You can add breakfast to your stay. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to our business conference, but I would of loved to add it on. She said it was oy 6.99 to add on. As we were leaving, we could smell the delicious scent of bacon.

Overall, great stay for booking at the last moment. With having a not so good experience with a different hotel just hours before booking this one.. Kozy saved our night. Great service when we checked in, and quick checking out. Only thing was the location was but far from our conference, so traffic hit us hard. Luckily...

Kozy North Houston Hotel (Hilton Garden Inn)

Our stay at Kozy North Houston Hotel was fantastic, and the experience started right at the entrance. The hotel's entrance is welcoming, and the lobby is spacious, offering ample seating with a modern, energetic ambiance.

Kevin at the front desk was exceptional—professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. He greeted us with a smile and ensured we had the best available rooms on the second and fourth floors. When we encountered a security deposit issue with my mom’s debit card, he assisted us effortlessly, making the process smooth. Bernice also went above and beyond; when we had a minor issue with the bathroom sink, she quickly arranged a new room for us without hesitation.

Kevin even gave us a tour of room 418, one of the best rooms in the hotel. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is both peaceful and lively, making it a great place to relax.

Pros ✔️ The A/C allows personalized temperature settings. ✔️ Great window view of the surroundings (no balcony). ✔️ Natural sunlight brightens the room beautifully during the day. ✔️ Quiet atmosphere, perfect for restful sleep without disturbances. ✔️ Convenient access to nearby Kroger grocery store and Planet Fitness. ✔️ Clean and well-organized rooms, stocked with all necessary toiletries. ✔️ Comfortable queen beds, ensuring a restful night's sleep. ✔️ Fast and reliable WiFi, with no connectivity issues.

Cons ➖ The bathroom sink in our initial room wasn’t draining properly. However, we were quickly moved to room 318, which turned out to be fantastic.

Overall, Kozy North Houston Hotel delivers an excellent experience with top-tier hospitality. The staff, especially Kevin and Bernice, make guests feel welcome and cared for. Highly recommended for anyone...

Camila which I believe is the “manager”, Leigh-Ann, and Dimitri at the front desk are just the most wonderful, WONDERFUL bunch! The room was and is amazing!! Restroom super clean, but the shower was just a smidgen slippery. So I would assume bacateria, but honestly honestly I saw no flaw in the room at all. Compared to way more expensive hotels we have stayed in. But this is actually a spectacular hotel!☺️ no roaches 🪳 no bed bugs! And even in a room that we stayed in as a family of four (so we payed very well $409) for a single night had bed bugs 😫 And this wonderful room that I found through my Walmart app and payed a total of $75.08 has had no bed bugs and no roaches as a typical motel in Dallas, and Houston does have. But it is a wonderful stay! Nice t.v , clean restroom, clean floors, clean beds! Just a wonderful stay. Boys are happy and my little boy is excited about going to the pool:)♥️ will indefinitely continue on coming back here guaranteed! About an hour away from the beach (El Jardín Beach) 🏖️ and I find this location so convenient from my husband’s job site where he is working now☺️

I recently stayed here for one night during a business trip to Houston and let me just say this experience was great! I searched for other hotels in the area but this one stood out with the great Google reviews. The outside is currently being renovated but the inside is a whole different vibe. Walking up to the entrance had music playing, smelled good and the inside was clean and decorated well. The receptionist who helped me was very kind and welcoming. The room was very spacious and had everything you could ask for (coffee machine, complimentary water, mini fridge, etc). The room was also clean overall, the bed was comfortable and the water got hot quick. The complimentary breakfast was also very nice. Honestly just an amazing experience; especially for the price. I will definitely be staying here again and would recommend it! The only small “con” was the water pressure in the shower. It seemed to go in and out of pressure but it was hot and comfortable nonetheless.
