Just want to make everyone aware that the woman who owned this before sold it to new owners. I came here weekly and last Friday I came to get my usual bowl and noticed new guys in there I’d never seen before and they weren’t mixing the ingredients like the previous owner did and seemed like they were struggling to keep up(there was 1 person in front of me and someone picking up an uber order) so I left and came back today (Thursday). The same guy (and another worker I’d never seen before) was working and again, with 2 workers they could not move as fast as the one who I’d been seeing for months as I discovered this place months ago. I had to ask them to mix the ingredients which he made it seem like they aren’t really going to do that anymore and I was obsessed with this place as I come here WEEKLY. I got chicken in my bowl which the previous owner would warm up for me. The ingredients were just thrown in the bowl and when it came to the sauces they changed everything. They have a new ginger sauce and I used to get extra ginger sauce on my bowls but this one has a potent smell and taste like PURE ginger not a sauce. They’ve added these cutesy claw machines and cotton candy machines and seems like they’re trying to be less of a small restaurant and just trying to make money.
I enjoyed this place while it lasted. This was the only poke place I went to and was really looking forward to showing my partner this place but never had a chance to before it was sold. I am highly upset and unimpressed by the new ownership.
In conclusion- new owners, less attentive, new ingredients, new money making machines. I’ll miss the previous woman who made the bowls- I believe she was the owner as I asked the new person where she was and he said she sold it. She was always so welcoming and sweet...
Read moreI did not patronize the business but had an unpleasant experience with one of the employees while attempting to pick up a delivery order. I advised her I was there to pick up an order and she stated "It's Not Ready!!' I saw there was another customer who was waiting for her order to be prepared and noticed there was another employee in the back who I thought may be working on the order so I waited additional time. She completed that order as another customer arrived and was waited on however I continued to patiently wait for the pick up order. She fixed the customer's bowl and the other employee starting washing dishes. At this point, at least 10 minutes had gone by, so I asked if she had started the order and she replied " I TOLD YOU, IT'S NOT READY!!" I advised her I would request a cancelation due to her ill-mannered demeanor and left the restaurant. This cashier was extremely rude and spoke with a condescending tone. Even her interaction with the few customer that were patronizing the business were less than satisfactory. Each customer asked her questions about what menu options that were offered and she was very short and disengaged. Maybe she was having a bad day but this is not a reason to treat people poorly. It's a shame because the food looked and smelled great and I considered returning for dinner, however afrer witnessing how much they don't value their customers, I will choose another establishment as it is too many options in the city of Houston/...
Read moreThis place used to be amazing. I've been a regular here for the last two years, going once a week. I guess they sold the business, cause these new people don't know what they are doing. Portions are terrible, the shrimp tempura is not fresh fried anymore, they air-fry it out of a bag. The spicy tuna is a whole different consistency and texture, probably out of a bag too instead of being made fresh. They don't know how to portion the ingredients in the bowl. You want pineapple and some cilantro? Take two cubes of pineapple and a giant handful of cilantro. It literally doesn't make sense. Also the whole time the guy was assembling My husband's bowl and mine, the guy kept talking about how his testicles were hurting. Beyond unprofessional and gross for a restaurant. I am not spending my money here until they fix it or bring the old lady back. She actually cared unlike these people. And the new claw machines are tacky. The new owners literally just can't do anything right. Every week I used to go during lunch time and there would be NO CUSTOMERS in the whole restaurant, so its not like they didn't need my business. They new owner is flopping on their investment and it makes me so sad to see this place probably go out of...
