Do not support this business! The owners are bad people. A thread: I worked at Wokano for a number of months, and the servers/service is great. However, the business practices run here are horrendous. The owners steal money from servers, and hostesses by taking extra charges from them that they lose from taxes. If you tip for togo orders the owners take 1/4 of the money from the baggers, hosts, and people taking your order for no other reason than greed. If you tip on online orders your host/boxers receive 0 of that money. It goes directly to the owners and the people that make the food and see that your order is taken care of get none of it. They also take 1/2 of the money you pay your server to give to the hibachi chef (which is fair, the cooks deserve the tips too) even if you tip the hibachi chef. For example, if you tip your hibachi chef $10, and then tip your server $10, the server will lose $5, and the hibachi chef will get that money. So your server leaves with $5, and the hibachi chef will get $15. Not to mention the despicable customer service provided by the owner Rachel specifically. I personally bought $109 worth of food from them for my coworkers at my current job, and the bag broke through when I got to work and all of our food was lost. They wouldn’t refund me, or replace the food unless I brought in the broken bag and containers with ruined food (which I obviously couldn’t do because I was at work). Not to mention the countless times I saw this happen to other customers. This happens because they set prepared food bags by the sink and the bottoms of the bags get wet. Then they tell you, you caused something in the bag to spill and that it’s your fault the food was ruined. Also, food regulations wise are very unsafe. The soup station runs far too high that it can cause 2nd/3rd degree burns if spilled. A young child spilled a bowl of soup into her lap and her mother had to leave to take her to the emergency room. Another coworker I worked with got 2nd degree burns on their hand while pouring soup and had to beg to leave to go to the doctor. Do not support Rachel and her business!!! She can’t keep staff because of how she treats her employees. She is drunk most of (if not all of) the time she in on the floor, and cares more about her own greed than the concerns of...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I've been to this restaurant several times and used to go to their old location before they moved here. Everything used to be delicious and worth the money. Today my experiance was so poor I had to write a review. Myself and several other work colleagues reserved a hibachi for 7:15 pm, we get there and they said it was for 7:50. Okay, a mild inconvenience. We waited patiently for the table to get ready and when it was we all sat down. The server came over, took our orders gave our drinks and disappeared. No refills of water or soda were offered to anyone at the table. Again, frustrating but tolerable. Then the chef came. I don't know if he was new or just wanted to hurry up and be done with us but he threw veggies and rice all over the table, it was a mess. I saw him pick things up off the table and throw them onto the grill as well. Gross but not the worst part. The chef couldn't figure out who ordered what and by default ended up cooking everyone's steak wrong. My close friend had never had hibachi before and ordered chicken and rice due to a shellfish allergy. None of us knew she had this allergy and she was not aware it would matter however the chef started throwing shrimp onto each persons plate and it made her food inedible. She was STILL forced to pay for food she could not eat but was offered a measly 10% off. She had a reaction and still no sympathy from management as she was actively struggling to breath and sweating buckets. I will not be back and I don't think any of the rest of my party of 13...
Read moreNever ever in my life have I ever had a more disappointing meal with disappointing service by the owner. Our waitress was quite nice, unfortunately no one at our table could understand what they cook was saying to us. I ordered Filet mignon (rare), chicken and scallop from the hibachi grill. The Chef gave me well done strip steak. I can't even describe what the scallops tasted like. They were absolutely disgusting, I would not even feed this to wildlife. Upon speaking to our waitress she came back and said we can give you $5 off. The cost of a filet mignon in comparison to the regular steak alone is $10. Everyone at the table looked at me with huge wide eyes like what in the world is going on. I said I'm not even taking this to go, this is not good at all. She goes and gets the owner. The owner comes back and says they will give me $10 off. I told the owner I'm not even taking this home with me, it was that bad. Mind you, they were near closing time so I'm guessing the scallops were out longer than they should have been. They tasted and smelled horrific. In the end they gave me $10 off, I did not take my meal with me, so I paid $33 for a freaking side salad. I will never go here again. Being new to the area, we were looking forward to it. Do not waste your money, unless you want a $33 side salad. Do better Wokano! P.S. Two of the people at the table got sick within a matter of hours. I'm glad I left my food behind, there would be a poor raccoon barfing somewhere. I've heard this is not the first time a situation like this has...
