TL;DR: The food is bland and the experience is confusing. You should eat somewhere else.
Unfortunately, the food is simply not very tasty. It's not disgusting, just bland - there's no reason to eat it. The steak burrito - a dish that is hard to mess up - doesn't have any savory or spicy flavors. The burrito is just dry and tasteless. I'm not a very picky eater, but I can't see myself going here again when I can make better food for cheaper at home by just opening my spice cabinet. The Jarritos soda is tasty, but you can just buy it from the CVS across the street. Edit: It seems from other reviews that nobody is enjoying the burrito - maybe they should just take it off the menu at this point
It's also not very clear what this restaurant is trying to be. At the entrance of the restaurant, there's a host station, which signals that you should wait to be seated. However, you are actually supposed to walk to the back of the restaurant to a counter not dissimilar to a fast food place. This might make you think that this is a takeout place that has tables. However, that is also wrong. When you walk up to the counter they tell you to take a menu and seat yourself. This experience is rather confusing and awkward, and it makes for a bad first impression.
P.S: It's also unclear whether to wait for the check or pay at the counter (you are supposed to pay at the counter).
P.P.S: It's also unclear whether there is a busser or whether you have to throw out your own trash (there's a busser).
I think this place needs to decide whether it's a restaurant or a takeout place.
I'm ending the review on that note because I think it's the most helpful critique I can give the restaurant, but for the consumer - don't forget that the...
Read moreFirst & LAST time coming here I wanna start off by saying this place is very unprofessional. I ordered a fried chimichanga and the lady who took the order claimed she told us it’s basically a pool of sauces when she didn’t Which doesn’t make the order fried, it’s more like soggy chimichanga. The chef came and asked if we wanted red or green tomato sauce. Mind u I order this to go. When I left, I tried this soggy “fried chimichanga” The chimichanga is awful the and the presentation was very dull, very soggy and tasted like a lot of vinegar . So I went inside and they tried to disrespect and tell me that they wasn’t redoing My order and that I had to Repay so I kept stating How I wasn’t asking for a refund, I just wanted the order redid The female cook had the nerve to go back and forth with me being disrespectful when clearly I paid for my food The older women which I believe is the owner, had to tell her to redo it because they were tired of me. Mind u when I came in there I came humble. They gave me an attitude. I gave the same energy back If you want professionalism and good tasting real Mexican food DO NOT COME HERE !!! Very unprofessional The female chef in the back got to much mouth Makes the business look bad. Not even the owner couldn't make her shut up.What employee argues with a customer ???? If you're gonna run a business, stop hiring family that doesn’t care about your business. If you don’t like something, Make sure you put up a sign No refunds No exchange so that a customer thinks twice before ordering nasty food and taking orders,Then after she redid it, all she gave me was the fried chimichanga and didn’t put the sauces on the side like I asked for originally and didn’t put the side salad...
Read moreWent for lunch after a graduation downtown, about 4:00 in the afternoon on a Friday. Walked in and saw nobody there. We rang the bell and after waiting around for about 5 minutes literally had to walk around the counter and shout into the kitchen to get someone to help us.
The woman who came out told us to sit and she'd be out. After about 5 minutes (which was the shortest wait of the entire meal) the poor woman, who was clearly trying her best, attempted to take our order. It was pretty clear that she had little knowledge of the menu and had no real answers to any questions we had.
After ordering we ended up waiting 45 minutes until we finally got bottles of water (not the correct amount of waters). It took another 20 minutes to get our food.
The food itself was pretty good, can't complain on that regard. It just was not at all worth the wait. A margarita was also ordered at the beginning and only came out at the end of the meal, even though we had asked for it for before the meal. Whether there actually was any alcohol in it is anyone's guess.
If the waters came out even two minutes later we would have walked out. Actually sitting down for a meal here is like pulling teeth.
We were the only people to walk into the restaurant the entire time.
From the look of other reviews in the past few months this is a...
