Soooooo yea, where do I even start?...This place used to be good. Like REALLY good service and excellent tasting food. Now Let me see if I can accurately describe what expectations I had and the end result I actually received less than 5mins of just walking out the door to this place.
I was craving some of those chicken and waffles and some chocolate pancakes. Ya know the kind that’s a classic and always another welcome entree.
Well to put it blatantly the chicken put in front of me was an imposter. No really, not only was the breading different but it was a bit on the cold side and very greasy. Okay it’s fried I get it, but I shouldn’t have to wipe my fingers off 3 or 4x. The waffle was also cold and tasted like the batter had been sitting for too long or different batter being used. It was lifeless and flavorless, so I imagine it’s possible to assume it has to do with how they are storing it. I wasn’t the only one who thought it was cold and tasted bland. I had a buddy of mine who like always (usually because the strips of chicken are so big that it’s just feels natural to share) had them with me and these he mentioned everything tasted cold and made me even feel sick.
I thought surely the chocolate pancakes would be better and steak tips. Nope. The pancakes were small and didn’t look like the chocolate pancakes I ordered when I was here before. And you guessed it the steak tasted off and yes cold like someone reheated them. The only thing that tasted decent were the hash browns.
But cmon let’s be honest those are like a dollar a bag at Walmart. And how hard is really to screw those up?
Well come to find out after the waiter made her way back over I wasn’t crazy. They changed providers she said and as a result everything I love about ihop I now dislike. They got rid of the moose in chocolate pancakes. I mean come on you don’t mess with a classic! And they no longer have those chicken strips, just these smaller sized less breaded ones. Think any fried chicken strip and picture that in your mind. Yea, that’s not what you are getting...
Suffice to say we won’t be coming back.
My buddy and I left disappointed and dissatisfied. Which they did take off a bit on the order as far as the price went. But when you come willing to purchase the food that you know and loved and it isn’t there. It does little to rectify an already disappointing night...
I think honestly their going to lose a lot of customers over these changes. The quality went down but it’s clear the price didn’t.
I can safely say they already lost 2 customers.
Really, with the way things are now - You are better going...
Read moreLet me start off by saying, I usually love iHop. It's been a favorite place to eat since I was a child. This location though, I don't understand why it has been so horrible. I have used both doordash and more recently their online ordering app, and both times I've been highly disappointed. But last night was the worst, (Note: I don't live too far and I picked it up in the 16 minute time frame they estimated that it would be) Firstly, there isn't a manager on duty at night. I asked why and the only English speaking girl there said that people have been asking the same thing for months but, their store manager, (Jennifer, who is extremely hard to get ahold of) doesn't think there's a need. Myself, being a manager of a restaurant and various restaurants in the past, I don't see how that's possible. Back to the problem(s), I paid online for 2 crepes, and 2 pancakes with bacon, hashbrowns and eggs. And one kid meal. Somehow they had different portions of eggs and hashbrowns in each box. Same price point, but significantly different portions. They bacon was all grizzle and the hashbrowns were undercooked, cold and mushy? Secondly, they forgot most of the kid meal. It was supposed to be 5 chicken nuggets, which I did receive--- only. Then it was mac and cheese and fruit which was in the description and pictured but not recieved. Thirdly, the crepes and stawberry cheesecake pancakes. I only go to iHop for strawberry cheesecake pancakes. But somehow, for some reason in the universe at this particular location, they've ruined it. Their eggs tasted like plastic (had pieces of it in it too), and they made my strawberry cheesecake pancakes taste just like sulfur. Livid. I am livid and sick now. It's ok though, I have backup crepes....NOPE. They're cold too and have nothing in the middle. Annnnd their strawberries? Frozen. Tasted like they'd been microwaved. Had mysterious black pieces on the outside. Nothing was really edible. My child didn't even want it, and she likes everything. I'm so sad and disappointed, and lastly to top it all off when I went to pick it up their cook was coughing into her wrist and not wearing any gloves. She saw me too, and inched over out of sight. I've made several attempts to call and get ahold of the manager, Jennifer, but none have been successful. In conclusion, I would like to save everyone the trouble of ordering, and put out there that this isn't the location you want. GO ELSEWHERE, IT'S JUST...
Read moreUPDATED: IHOP reached out and said they wanted to make it right and said our next meal was on the house if we were willing to give them another chance. After a few weeks my wife and I went back and service was a bit better but still not phenomenal. Our server this time around was much nicer however he didn’t check in as much leading to me needing to again ask another staff member if we could get a refill as they walked by since it had been 20-30 minutes without being checking in on. I think I’ve come to this is just the way IHOP is and that’s the service you get for the food prices. I’ve upped my review score just a bit due to the willingness to invite us back to make it right and our new server being a lot nicer however I still think there’s a ways to go before they get a 5 Star rating
Old Review: I’ve always had pleasant experiences at IHOP but this time was not great. My wife and I decided to come for a breakfast date and everything was great to start but after we ordered our server never came to our table again. My wife had gotten a soda and towards the end of our meal she said, “I was hoping I’d be able to get more refills but our server hasn’t stopped by”. I realized she was right and our server was nowhere to be found. I told her I’d go to the kitchen entrance and see if we could refill it ourselves and she told me she’d be too embarrassed to do that. I decided to stand up and see if I could find our server and eventually found him sitting in the back corner of the restaurant messing around with other servers. I waved him down and only after I got his attention and I asked if he could visit our table to get my wife a refill did he actually stop by. We stayed for another 20 minutes with no additional visit from him even though we needed a refill again. I eventually had to wave him down when he was coming out of the kitchen to get our bill. I don’t mind paying for a soda but the salt in the wound was the soda was $3.5 and over the course of an hour meal we’d only gotten visited again and got a refill once after I had to go find our server. Felt like a waste and our server had done the bare minimum only to give us the receipt and stand there and watch us as we filled out the tip portion.
Could not have been more disappointed and I was hoping this IHOP would live up to the great service we have gotten at...
