Google asks for a review of food, service and atmosphere. I will give my honest review in this particular order.
Food. We’ve only been to Bridge a few times now and each time we’ve been blown away. The Pastrami is mouth wateringly good! We’ve sampled quite a bit of the menu and everything has been superb. But, the one thing that stands out to me is the Charcuterie Board options. Each board comes with focaccia bread and a mix of nuts. You have many different cheeses and meats to choose from. I implore you to try the chèvre cheese with their made in house fig jam slathered on the bread with a sprinkle of nuts on top. It is the epitome of the “perfect bite”. Service, top notch! Service isn’t just the person who brings your food and drink. It’s the interactions you have with any employee you encounter. As soon as we enter we’re greeted by several people with smiles and welcomes. I was green to the world of charcuterie honestly and our server was very knowledgeable and patient with me. They also went through each special with us thoroughly. We took friends in with us on one particular visit. They requested a non-alcoholic drink and it was absolutely no problem at all for them to create. They came up with one on the spot! The atmosphere is charming. I’ve not visited anyplace quite as unique and elegant. You feel a little like you’ve stepped back in time. The bar is what you see first as you enter. When you’re taken to your table upstairs you notice immediately the ledge lined with a plethora of unique lamps that softly light up the room. It’s simply put, fun and very different. Towards the front there is a little niche conversation area that would be perfect to sit and sip a drink while chatting and just enjoying the view.
A lot of folks recommend the Hill for dining. I know there’s a lot of good places to go there. But please, give The Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar in downtown STL on Locust a try. It’s quaint, charming, has knowledgeable friendly staff, and the food is...
Read moreI have to give Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar 3 stars for one particular reason and that is because of the blonde/ dirty blonde, female host that was welcoming and seating guest on Saturday evening(Mar 25th 2017). My wife and I were visiting St. Louis for the weekend as a little get away. We had planned to have dinner at one place that evening but it was booked for a private event. After researching on Yelp we came across Bridge Tap House & Wine bar. My wife made a reservation for us on the yelp app which told us our table would be ready at 8:15pm and we arrived at 8:10pm. The female host told us that it would be another 20-25 minutes before a table would be ready and we were okay with that. We told the host we would wait out front of the restaurant as it was a bit warm inside. At 8:40pm we went back inside and tried to find out what the status of the table was. She told she will see what she can do as she had known we had been waiting for awhile. at 8:50pm we could clearly see that there were at least two tables upstairs that were free, but the host decided to seat a larger group of about 6-7 people before us, even though we arrived beforehand. At 8:55 while sitting at the bar, Johnny the bartender ask if we were ready to order, but I told him no that my wife and I were getting ready to leave as we had been waiting for a table for almost 45 minutes. Johnny said just to give him a minute, and within 45 seconds we were on our way to our seats at a table. I appreciate Johnny doing that for us even though that wasn't his job. Our waitress was great and the food was very good and came out to our table quickly, our main problem was just with the host that evening. Now I hope that maybe the host was having a bad night, or just forgot about us and it was not because of my wife and I being an interracial couple for the reason why we were not seated by her. Overall everything was great except the interaction with the host who was working...
Read moreCame here for drinks while on vacation and the experience was so bad we didn’t even finish our drinks and just left to go somewhere else. We found the place online and it looked really cute and intimate (which atmosphere was) and had good reviews. We arrived at 9:50pm and they close at 11pm. As soon as we walked in, the woman that greeted us (maybe the owner?) said the kitchen was closed. We said we just came for drinks to which she replied last call was in ten minutes. No “hi, how are you, welcome” etc. and it was strange that last call would be an hour before closing. We sat at the bar and waited a good 10ish minutes before someone took our drink order despite the fact that it wasn’t that busy and again she was was super rude. Other bar employees were taking shots and tasting beers at the end of the bar right next to us while we had been waiting to order. The bar staff were really inattentive and seem bothered by questions about the extensive drink selection. The part that got both of us, is that another couple walked in about five minutes after we finally got our drinks (and supposedly after last call) and we’re treated completely differently. We don’t know if it’s because we have tattoos, were a mixed couple, or didn’t “look” like the rest of the patrons…we had on proper attire (dress and polo) so no clue what it was about us in particular. We felt uncomfortable at the onset because the woman was so rude, but then after seeing her demeanor change completely towards others in the bar was upsetting, so we just paid the tab (which also took forever) and left. Didn’t even finish our beers. Definitely will not be back next time we are in town and were really...
