We had gone a couple times last year before shows at the Fox. It had been pretty quick at that point, but we also hadn't gotten there during a rush. Today we decided to try it again before seeing Dear Evan Hansen. We got there at 6pm and it was pretty packed. The hostess was basically non-existent. This should have been the first sign that we should have left. He was running around not really doing anything to help people find tables. The only reason we sat down was due to us finding two chairs at the bar. We ordered pretty promptly - maybe 6:10ish. The only thing we ever got was the beer. The host said that the kitchen was swamped. We also noticed a sign that indicated new management had taken over. Clearly they don't know how to run things before a show to go quickly enough. We got little to no updates afterwards. To get any updates we had to flag down the bartender as she had never told us her name. We flagged her down once and asked - she said it was on the grill and she was advocating for it... We asked again maybe 10-15 minutes later. At this point it was nearing 6:55 pm and we had to be at the Fox at 7:30pm. The only way we could get her attention was by calling her name - which was Andrea. We said we had been waiting for about an hour at that point. She rudely responded that we had only been waiting about 45 minutes... okay, so basically almost an hour. She said she would go check on it again. She still came back with no food. Minutes later her MANAGER came out and yelled at us. Telling us not to yell at her wait staff, that it wasn't their fault it was the kitchens. We had clearly not yelled - we had just called her name over a loud bar to get her attention to ask if we were ever going to get our food. The manager said she would try to get the food. Still no food came out. Finally, around 7:05 we gave up. As I was exiting, someone that had seen what was happening told us we shouldn't feel bad as we clearly hadn't yelled at the bartended. She expressed that the managers reaction had seemed super harsh. We went across the street and ordered burgers at the diner next to the theatre. The burgers were out in 8 minutes and we were able to make it to the show on time. Don't go here if you want to make it to a Fox show. You won't get your food for more than an hour if it's...
Read moreI was here 10/25/2019 around 6PM and the food was good, waiter was good but the blonde manager was the most unprofessional manger I've ever seen. A woman who had clearly been waiting a while (so were we) was simply waving down the bartender to ask for her bill, she couldn't get the bartenders attention so she yelled her name. The manager came out and then yelled at the customer telling her to not yell at her employees, ironic much? The whole restaurant could hear and was staring. I thought "never raise your voice and humiliate the customer in front of your entire restaurant" was common sense for a manager, but apparently not. The manger then proceeded to tell the customer "EVERYONE in here has been waiting a long time for their food, EVERYONE in here is going to the show tonight, It's the kitchens fault, not ours, the kitchen is backed up" L O L, how are any of those things the customers issue? Don't welcome people in, make them wait an extensive amount of time for their food, and then when they're upset they never got their food, blame the kitchen and how busy you are. Just limit the amount of people you allow in if you really can't take care of a full house and if your kitchen is backed up. Not once did I hear this woman apologize or acknowledge the lack of service, instead she was defensive. I have teenagers who work at my ice cream store who know better. Good luck...
Read moreUnfortunately we didn’t have the best experience at Lucha… this week my partner and I decided to try something new and stop in before our Mamma Mia show at the Fox that evening. Upon walking in we were greeted fairly quickly and directed to our table. After about 10 minutes or so our server took our orders. We waited about 30 minutes for two tacos and chips & salsa (which you do pay for, not a problem but just to preface that before someone thinks I’m complaining about something free) — the expo drops our food and tells me “we’re out of birria so I gave you steak instead” mind you the Norris is lamb and they gave me a whole different meat without even asking and I don’t eat steak so he got another taco lol. Then we were told the chips aren’t done yet but I’ll be back with them shortly… after about 20 more minutes we got our bill and left, still no chips as they never even came out. And we needed to head over to the theatre to get in line for our show. I will say through all of this that the server was very nice and also seemed annoyed that the kitchen hadn’t communicated to him… as he should! So it definitely was not his fault. I wouldn’t mind giving this place another shot, maybe it was an off night. Hopefully this review helps with communication and maybe put a cap on how many people can come in to eat at once until some tweaks get...
