Literally, don't waste your time going to the grooming department. I made the mistake twice. My dog had an appointment on a Thursday and when asked if she had any problems I reminded them (because she has been going there for over a year) that she has had mild seizures. No, she is not on medicine because the vet determined they are mild and rarely happen. And no she has never had one getting her hair done. Pet Co's solution was that she needed a clearance letter from the vet saying she could get a haircut. So after almost half an hour (out of my work day) I got a hold of my vet's office and they agreed to write a letter. Pet Co then told me I could come back the following day if I had a letter. Once again I took time out of my work day, with clearance letter in hand, and went back. The clearance letter wasn't good enough because the front office had written it, and it didn't have the signature of the vet. I calmly told them they could call the number at the bottom of the page and verify anything they needed. The girl promptly did and told me my dog was on medication while she was on the phone with the vet's office. I told her very quickly she was NOT on medication (I think I would know if my own dog was medicated or not) and apparently the speaker from the vet's office could hear and corrected her also. She then said she would need to get the store manager because they could NOT take the word of the vet's front office. The manager came out and also said the clearance letter wasn't good enough and they would need to talk directly to my vet in order for my dog to get a haircut. Now I have wasted another half hour out of my work day because Pet Co has deemed my dog unfit for a haircut, although they had the vet's office on the phone saying it was more than fine for her. So not only did they have a letter but they had a verbal green light from the doctor's office. I understand trying to be safe, but this was beyond ridiculous, especially since we have been going for over a year and never had any problems before. Not to mention the time (two days) I lost taking off from work for nothing. My advice is go anywhere but Pet Co, unless you like being jerked around and have plenty of work...
Read moreIf I could give it zero stars I would — Posted from a friend: PLEASE READ- This was my sweet Chinese cave gecko, Draco, that I fell in love with after having him for a few short weeks. He spent all of his free time sitting on my shirt and curled up sleeping in my hands. Yesterday, I noticed he wasn’t acting right, and I immediately called the Statesboro Petco where I purchased him from. I was told that I could bring him in, and they would take him to the vet immediately, since I had only had him for under 30 days. I go to work, and then I proceed to go to Petco. I am greeted and PROMISED by their reptile department they would do everything they can to take care of him, and first thing this morning, he would be brought to the vet. I trusted them with Draco, but I soon found out that I shouldn’t have. I proceed to call up there this morning, and I’m told that my Draco is doing so much better that he was eating and drinking so much last night, and that even someone stayed with him to monitor him overnight. He was “apparently” dropped off at the vet first thing this morning, and I had nothing to worry about. So, as a worried momma would do. I call the exotic vet he was “apparently” delivered to. They’ve heard nothing about my gecko, and they had no idea what I was talking about. I called the Statesboro Petco back, and they lied straight to my face. They never took my baby to the vet. They never were going to. The cameras at Petco showed their awful employees sticking my baby in a refrigerator last night before they EVEN CLOSED. They were infuriated with me for being so upset because it was “just a lizard”. So, are these the type of people we want taking care of our animals? Are these the type of people we’re supposed to trust with our PETS. Every pet matters, and they’re all living, breathing things. Don’t ever trust this Petco with anything to do with your animals because they’re psychological liars, and they will do anything just to cover up their mistakes. Below are pictures of my Draco, and the last picture is what Petco did to him when he was apparently “at the vet doing much better”. I hope I saved some of you from heartbreak that I unfortunately had to find out...
Read moreI booked a grooming for my birthday back in June. The grooming department screwed up and cancelled my appointment without telling me. Therefore showed up to no room for getting my dog groomed. Than today Christmas Eve have a appointment. They turned me away as I have long hair huskies who require more attention and they booked me with a apprentice who can not handle the grooming they need. They said you should have booked with the other lady. How was I to know who is a apprentice versus professional. Therefore second time doing this getting turned away and told to come back at another time. Once on my birthday and now on Christmas Eve. They also said they turned another person away before me. Do better. Get more people who can do a full grooming as needed. Stop breaking people’s hearts because of your mistakes. Merry Christmas to me and no I am sorry I will discount or anything. Yep bad review here we are. No head manager on staff to make any decisions over grooming. Complete joke and am owed a apology. Kendra Royal fans do not book here you will be disappointed. Turned away and told to come back at a later date.. please read the many other bad reviews for the grooming session before you think about coming here.
Ps: First thing in the morning store had shards of glass on the floor and hair everywhere in the store and mentioned to them they need to clean. They need to get inspected as they are not keeping the...
