Long review and I apologize but I just wanted to explain our entire evening.
Our family went on the evening of Thanksgiving to help a friend celebrate being she was alone for the holidays. When we first walked in, the place smelled so bad. She kept saying it smelled like feet. I personally think it smelled like pee but not sure what it was. We were also sitting near the bathrooms so Iām not sure where the smell came from. As the waitress came up, my husband ordered a drink from the bar, but they would not accept his ID. He then pulled out his military ID as another form being it has the birth date on it. The waitress took it to the back and returned to tell us that they could not accept a military ID. My husband was a little frustrated because he had been looking forward to one of their drinks he gets there any time we go (which is not often but their bar is pretty decent). I asked her what the reason was that they could not accept a military ID as we are both currently serving and have NEVER been declined at a restaurant for using a military ID. The manager could not give a good excuse to the waitress so the waitress came back and her reasoning was āpeople fake their IDās a lot so we canāt lose our liquor license because of that.ā I asked her what made her think we were underage or faking an ID being we literally had our child with us and both showed a military ID. (for reference, my husband is 24 and I am 23.)
Anyways this had already upset us and I wanted to leave but being it was the only restaurant we could find open, we didnāt want to leave, be bad sports, and not buy our friend dinner. Otherwise we would have left.
As far as our food, it was all very overcooked. My friend ordered a T-bone medium rare. It came very well done. My husband and I both ordered burgers which came BURNT. I was peeling BURNT CRUSTED FLAKES off of my patty. I asked for no onions and lettuce. Still got onions. And they literally threw like 3 shreds of lettuce on the burger and called it a day. The only good thing we enjoyed was the side of mashed potatoes. My husbandās fries were very cold and unsalted.
We are not mad at the waitress because we know and understand it is not her job to decide what IDās they take or how the food comes out. But overall, the manager never came and spoke with us about the issues and by that point, we were scared to send the food back in case they were to do something crazy to it being we had already started the night off poorly.
My husband and I came to ruby Tuesday on our first date a few years ago and it was amazing. Not sure what happened between then and recently, but the three times weāve been there in the past year have been awful. We keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but each time itās an unpleasant experience. I know losing one customer doesnāt affect the business but honestly Iām hoping this review will just open the eyes of some of the management team there. First impressions are everything and when everyone working there seems to have attitudes and hate their job, thereās only so many good things that will come out of it. I appreciate the workers for working on Thanksgiving but it very clearly showed that they did not want to be there. Wish I had taken photos but I was just so annoyed I didnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in town this week in Statesboro, GA. on business. I asked the hotel concierge, Jass for a recommendation on where I could get a good steak. She offered me 4 choices, one of which required a reservation. I quickly eliminated that option, not being open to dropping anywhere close to a "C-note" on a meal without my wife being there with me. Then she asked me if I'd like her personal favorite for a delicious steak. I said yes, and she told me that she always chooses Ruby Tuesday at 195 Northside Dr East. So, off I went to see how accurate her personal choice would be, for me. I ordered the 6oz Ribeye with a temperature of Medium Rare, and I chose the mashed potatoes as my only side, unless the Blue Moon draft counts as the 2nd side. I know how difficult it is to pull off a mid-rare steak that small, but I had Jass' recommendation, so I went for it. 10 minutes later, my order arrived, and it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! Jass knew exactly what she was talking about. My server/bartender was SOPHIA, and the GM was actually there during my visit, KIMBERLY. Both of these ladies went above and beyond to actually create a dining "experience" for me, and not just a quick meal. Perhaps you'll think the attention I received on my solo visit was just good luck for me. But after chatting with them throughout my visit and watching them serve other diners, I could tell that these ladies are true "customer facing" folks that actually care about each customer. By the way, this Ruby Tuesday's Statesboro, GA location has a 4.5 of 5.0 rating online with about 500 reviews! That's so amazing to do these days unless all other 500 folks felt the same way I do about my own visit there. I'll be back to Statesboro one week a month for another 3 months. And hey, I'm including this restaurant at least 2 or 3 days per month when I'm there. They really made me feel like family, and the food for me was a SOLID 5.0/5.0. Many thanks to SOPHIA and KIMBERLY, and I'll see you in June!!! PS: I spent about a third of what that Fru-Fru Steak House reservation would have cost me, and I left Ruby's with a belly-full of really delicious food (& I slept like a...

ā¢The service was speedy I'll give em that! Lol! āāāāā
ā¢figured out why though, soon enough. His steak was SO bloodyš©øš„© when he got it, pretty sure I heard a "moo" when he sliced it šŖšš³ ...& guess what else: no mushrooms.
⢠at least the waitress did take the charge off the bill. ćafter having to ask a few times. how kind.ć
ā¢I ordered ribs n shrimp.. they were ok.. overcooked, but not awful. (SN: I traded dishes with my bf)
ā¢my raspberry FROZENš¹ margarita was supposed to be "top shelf" yet I have some serious doubts about how high that shelf was cause..... ššš» PLUS it wasn't even frozen, it was on the rocks (or should I say on A rock) with 1 tiny fragment of an ice cube it was more like watered down cheap vodka with kool-aid.. but whatevš¤·š¼āāļøš
ā¢bf had a beer.šŗ kinda hard 2 screw that up.. 1 win at least.
i guess the server had her hands full with her ONE table of 2 (yes, us lol) and it was pretty late (8:15 ish) so I guess I understand she was probably all tuckered out from doing a whole Lotta nothin. seems exhausting.
⢠The salad bar was slack. period. most of everything was dirty mixed together or gone. they definitely should do...
