Tonight’s dinner is from Sidecar Slider Bar in Sterling Hts MI

This place has plenty of potential, with parking, lots of space, an indoor (virtual) golfing game, pool tables, TVs and vibes. However, I knocked one star off of service and atmosphere because the server (female with longer black hair) was completely inattentive to us, specifically. As a group of 2 people, it was not crowded, so we sat at the bar after standing and waiting for a host(ess) to seat us as the "Please wait to be seated" sign was up. After 4 minutes of standing there, we decided to have a seat at the bar so it would be easier. Once we sat down, she locked eyes with us, then proceeded to handle the wine bottles she was working with. Perfectly fine, but an acknowledgement would have been nice. Fast forward to another 4-5 minutes later and still no words of acknowledgement. A really cool gentleman (glasses and beard) came and dropped off menus for us and was really sweet. After a few minutes, she then came and asked us if we wanted something to drink , we ordered and she brought them to us, that was literally the last of our interactions. She no longer spoke to us, or looked our way. We needed a refill on our drinks and tried to get her attention on several occasions but another customer (who she was very excited to see, a regular, I'm presuming) came in and she immediately shrieked and tended to him. She had a conversation with him for 9 minutes , once she turned around, she got him a drink and never once acknowledged us again. We were ready to order our food and get a refill on our drinks and we're growing rather impatient. Then the gentleman working noticed us and asked if we had any questions, took our food and drink orders and tended to us the remainder of the night. He was an exceptional service worker and his demeanor was everything, very cool. I would love to come back and frequent this place, but I do have my reservations, as she really soured our experience. Had he not have been working that evening, we would have surely left, completely unsatisfied. For context, it was a Tuesday night (around 10pm) , so if it was a long day, I totally get it. But to be so attentive to other customers and completely ignore us felt particularly disheartening , and I'd rather not patronize a place with service workers like that. But besides that, the food was delicious, the portion sizes were huge , especially the calzone, the drinks were good and the restaurant was clean and had plenty of parking outside. I'd recommend trying this place out, but just be weary of that individual and her level of service (or lack thereof).

I love a good deal, so of course we had to go for their happy hour which is available from 3pm - 6pm 7 days a week. The ambiance is great and our waiter Mark had such a good sense of humor and took really good care of us. For drinks I had an Old Fashioned, and my friend had the Margarita. Both were only 6 dollars which is more than half the price outside of their happy hour. Both were strong and tasty. There’s no way we could only have one but everyone knows there’s no rules when it comes to happy hour right? For our appetizers we had the Brussels Sprouts, Pretzel Sticks, and the Pierogis. All of which also only 6 dollars a piece. Brussels were great but could have used more balsamic reduction, Prezels were fried to perfection and the Cheese Sauce was amazing, and the Perogis were super savory and went great with the Spicy Sour Cream Sauce. Portions were large we started to fill up on those alone! We ordered a total of 8 different sliders. I won’t bore everyone with the names of each slider we ordered but there’s some highlights and lowlights I’ll talk about. Anything spicy is going to be about twice as spicy as you expect it to be. Depending on who you are that’s either good news or bad news. The portion sizes are very good for the price as well and much bigger than other slider joints like Green Dot Stables for example. I loved the Ahi Tuna and the 2am sliders the most. The Portabella slider was simply not doing it for us. It was fresh, but that’s about it, and the combination of the different flavors involved just did not make sense to me. I think the basic beef options are where the shine the most. However, I love that they have vegetarian and plant based options, and just because we didn’t like something doesn’t mean you won’t either. Our waiter Mark informed us that although dessert was not on the menu just yet, that they will be offering it soon at that location. They have really fun interactive games such as air hockey which is really cool and unique also! Overall I’d say this place is a hit, and with such a wide variety of different food on their menu, there is truly something for everyone to try. If you’re ever in the area, or are looking for an absolutely killer Happy Hour, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Have seen and or heard many positive words from .. . . . . So getting here was long overdue.

Went to the Sterling Hts location on 10-6-24

We were promptly greeted by Mark the bartender & server. He pointed us to a comfy 2 seater booth near the bar.

He then arrived as our server, we told him it was our very first visit, he offered some great recommendations and he knew the menu backwards and forwards.

We split the amazing garlic parmesan waffle fries, it was a lovely treat, with some flair, very very good.

I was super hungry, he encouraged me to try a calzone, made in house, fresh dough, sauce & home made meatballs, the pictures will show it is huge, 1/2 would be more than enough. I took one half home.

The meatballs tasted like they simmered all day on grandmas stove. Very Good.

My wife ordered the breakfast slider, nice combo of sweet and salty, one was truly enough , along with the fries.

In closing the place is very easy to miss, as it sits back in the plaza, but well worth of your time, once you find it.

Generous & affordable happy hour, served 7 days a week from 3pm - 6pm

Also they are open until 2 am and yes the kitchen is open until 1 AM ( They want local restaurant/Industry folks to know they have a place to eat, drink, after there local shifts)

Huge perk, if you are a restaurant employee or owner, they honor the HH menu , for you, anytime ( Thank you Mark)

John the GM & owner stopped by, he was truly a hands on guy, he impressed my date with his glass cleaning skills, as he was outside on a ladder making the place look inviting and spiffy.

The place is H U G E , to the south of the bar is a room with several golf simulators, plus one larger room with a big screen simulator ands more privacy for a gathering.

To the north of the bar is arcade games, and pool tables.

The place has much to offer, small local chain, worthy of your time & money. I'm planning my next...
