Thai chef — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

Well, I am not from the state of Michigan. I just arrived here after a 10 hour drive from PA on November 7th. On the evening of the 7th, I decided to visit this chinese take out restaurant that is located about a 3min drive from my new apartment. My first visit with this restaurant and it was a HUGE disappointment. When I looked at the shrimp fried rice platter I ordered. It appeared so disgusting, I could not even bare to consume any of it. I ended up tossing the entire entree in the garbage. A full $10.60 in the drain, plus I tipped them! I should have known something, when the meal was prepared so quickly...it literally took less than five minutes. But I didn't open my purchase until I got home and as soon as I saw the BURNT rice as if it was cooked in spoiled cooking oil, the dried cucumbers, the spoiled onions and peppers...I didn't even want to bother with digesting any of it. I did not look at any reviews before I visited the restaurant. But now that I noticed that the reviews are from a certain creed of people. I love thai food. Eat it all the time. Their pad thai here was only okay, lacking that panache and flavor all the other pad thais that ive had from other restaurants. The red curry is very strange, not the kind i’ve had before and surprisingly lacking in flavor. Dunno this red curry was just... off. The yellow curry via Gang Karee was super strange, meat, potatoes, in yellow curry over rice? So great, carbs, carbs, and an okay amount of meat. Very strange flavors all around and i wouldnt call this authentic thai food at all. TLDR: Over all, portion sizes are huge, flavor is okay at best, but the meat was decent quality and cooked well. Theres better thai around, but if you’re hungry the food here will soothe...

When we hunger for Thai food, we always order from this fine restaurant and staff. Always very polite and efficient in getting our orders. We order the food medium or mild and that is plenty hot for us snd you get good quantity, too. Their food seems to be heathier than Chinese food. The owners are very grateful for being Americans and they give their time and food to veterans who are in need. This year they had to hold the veteran event outside because of Covid.
