FAIL - We have been regulars at this McDonald's since it opened, and we would generally rate it as the one of best. Unfortunately, when we stopped in for breakfast on the morning of February 21st the manager failed us in a very disturbing way. As we were waiting for our order I noticed a young man wearing a McDonald's uniform sitting at a table in the rear area of the restaurant. He was coughing violently into his hands - no tissue - his nose was red and running and he was wiping it on his sleeve. It doesn't take an MD to recognize flu symptoms, but whatever the case this young man was quite ill and almost certainly highly contagious. There are a lot of older customers who frequent this restaurant, my wife and I included, not to mention the staff, and this young man was putting everyone at risk. I went to the counter and spoke with a woman who identified herself as the manager. I informed her of my observations and strongly suggested that the young man be sent home. She thanked me and said that he had not started his shift. My wife and I seated ourselves as far from the hazard as we could, and watched in disbelief as the young man first stepped behind the food counter and then took up housekeeping duties in the dining area while continuing to cough on his hands and wipe his nose on his sleeve. We hurried through our food and left. Just to see if the manager had taken any action, I returned about an hour later and the young man was still at work - coughing and wiping his nose. It's always disappointing when you bring a problem to a manager and are ignored, but this was a serious health threat to everyone in the restaurant and the manager's indifference was shocking and inexcusable. As the flu and cold viruses in droplets can survive for hours on hard surfaces, hundreds of people may have been put...
Read moreDear McDonald’s worker, I want to eat MY food, not chemicals! I would have actually given this place at least 3 stars because my cashier was really nice. However, I am very displeased with the way I was treated by an employee while I was eating. He insisted on wiping the table I was eating at, even after I asked him to stop! I didn’t want the mist from the spray bottle to land in my food. I kindly asked him to stop and he very RUDELY replied, “Well, I have to clean the table!” Huh??? I replied, “Well not while I’m eating here, please!” He reluctantly went on to sweep the floor. When I saw the bottle he was using left out on the eating table, I was really shocked to see they were using such strong chemicals, that’s used for mold & mildew removal, near food. I totally appreciate that restaurants have to keep their lobbies clean, but not at the expense or inconvenience of the customer. Owner, please address this with your staff and let them know that while it’s important to be task-focused, spraying chemicals around customers OR their food is inappropriate. And that goes for sweeping around occupied tables as well. It’s always just best to wait and find another task until they’re done eating. Or simply ask the customer if they don’t mind. (some may not, but I do) What this guy didn’t know is that I have allergies and these type of chemicals could have trigger an asthma attack. However, this guy could care less about customers. Perhaps you should hire more workers who actually do care or risk losing more and customers over lack of basic common sense...
Read moreNot sure if it's the "new" curbside pick up weighing in on wait times or something else, but this location (Hudson Bridge in Stockbridge, GA) was terrible today as far as the drive-thru goes. As soon as they take my money and I pull up to receive my order, I'm instructed to "pull up and my food would be right out". I watched this happen to 9 other cars to go through the line behind me with only two other cars actually receiving food at the window. Now, I was an employee at McDonald's throughout high school and college so my best guess is this has to be an attempt to keep drive thru window times down. Or maybe this is a tactic to be more like the restaurant with the red and white chicken logo, but this has NOT been mastered here! We waited 17 minutes to receive pieces of our order at 3 different times after immediately being pulled up. Plus the parking lot is not setup for this - too tight for all these cars to have to continually pull into and out of the spots to wait their turn for their orders. Think I will find another McDonald's that may not be experimenting as much with this new model because it is a headache from a customer standpoint. But I must add that the girls bringing the food out had nice customer service - and even some with nice little...
