Horrible Customer Service.
1, I asked what's the soup special today. They said no soup. I said your restaurant didn't have soup the last time I was here a couple days ago. Did you stop serving soup? They said no they just didn't make any. 2, I usually buy the regular priced meals (and even their meals are priced high but I still buy because again, I support black owned). Today I ordered the lunch special. The price wasn't advertised before I got to the register. I didn't think nothing of it when I got to the register and asked why the lunch special was $10+ and also saw an extra $1.04 added for fried chicken. They said they charge extra for fried chicken. I said the fried chicken is on the lunch special so how are you charging extra for what's on the lunch special? They just said it was an extra charge and to talk to the manager about it. I asked to speak with the manager and the tall big lady with the beard came out with an attitude (she always have an attitude by the way, and always on her phone or have her earpiece in her ears, never open the restaurant on time and close early when she's the opening person) and didn't even apologize or really explain the extra charge but just stated that it's an extra charge and that's the price. I walk over to the table to fix my bag and the tall lady with the beard comes out from the kitchen talking bad about me and went back in the kitchen when she saw me. I guess she thought I left the restaurant but I didn't. It seems they're trying to make up for the regular priced fried chicken by cutting it by $2/$3 and saying it's a "lunch special". Every time I come in there their prices are never consistent, they advertise soup but barely make any and when they do it's either "finished" by 2p/3p, mashed out and sells the crumbs or broth or just don't make any at all, the turn over rate is high and there's one lady that's been there for years. Sweet lady but she needs to go elsewhere because they don't deserve her. I try to be patient with this restaurant. I try to support black owned businesses but its always something with this place. My last straw was when she came out talking bad about me, especially as a customer who's been coming for years and no accommodation as a repeat customer. The only reason why I still come here because it's never a line when I'm in there and the food is actually pretty good when it's made fresh. However, today my fried chicken was very oily and undercooked. I didn't even go back inside (I sat in my car to try and eat my food) to let them know because I'm afraid the lady with the beard was going to do something to my food so I threw my food away. Waste of money. They overcharge for all their meals. Golden Krust lunch special is $5.99/$6.99/$7.99 (depending on which one you go to) and they give you better portions. Read moreI went after work because my husband loves Carribean food and I wanted to surprise him. I explained to the young lady who was working that I had never ordered carribean sooo.Letting her know that I might need some help. She gave me a blank look so I quickly said I will go with the jerk chicken. I didn’t want a stare off competition with her. Bad enough we have on masks and it’s challenging sometimes to communicate. Then she asked what 2 sides. I felt as if she wanted me to hurry up. I saw rice n beans so I said, I will take that then I asked her what else do people usually have with it . She says well I can’t tell u what to get …(mind u 1st time) . but I was asking her for suggestions. That was useless …so I saw cabbage and asked for that Then she asked what gravy on my rice I asked her to put it on the side. Then I asked her what were my choices and for another recommendation … I know that I was going out on a limb but what the heck. I really wanted to say forget it and walk out.. she was useless and seemed quite irritated at me for asking about the different kinds of gravy . It wasn’t as if I was holding up the line because only one guy came in after me . I love supporting but I will not go where I feel that u could give less than a damn . We have so many businesses that come and go because the customer service is terrible! It only takes one time to get it right . Let’s try making it the first time. Read moreI wish there was a No STAR selection. AVOID THIS PLACE!! The customer service we received tonight was completely unacceptable. My daughter wanted to order some vegan options for her dad who she had on the phone reciting the options to him. I guess the lady felt as if my daughter was taking too long to decide so she started to get an attitude. Mind you my kid was standing away from the counter looking @ the menu and talking to her dad. She never got a chance to order nor engage before the lady caught an attitude. Her dad then advised her over the phone to just leave. Still willing to overlook her attitude she realized she didn’t have her card and told the lady she was going to the car to get her card and would be back to order. The lady started yelling, “HOW LONG HAVE YOU STOOD THERE AND KNEW YOU DIDN’T HAVE YOUR CARD—GET OUT OF HERE AND NEVER COME BACK!” My 17 year old who is none confrontational and never taught to be disrespectful just walked out without giving her problems. But to speak this way to a paying guest was COMPLETELY unacceptable. She revealed this to me once she got in the car and had the lady not locked the door behind her she would have gotten a word from me regarding the complete NASTINESS she had given my child.
