Ate here for the first time recently in all our visits to Mystic. Food was good, server was courteous and capable and the food was what you would expect from a solid and popular local pizza place/ restaurant. No knock on any of the above. I only gave it 3 stars as the prices were pretty darn expensive for this type setting compared to similar restaurants in our town. I get it, as is the case with a tourist destination. $21.50 for a chicken parm dinner, $16 for a bbq chicken sandwich. For three adults and 1 child, including tip and one appetizer... approx $108. I wouldn't pay that in our hometown, no matter how good the food. They have live music, so it can be a bit loud. Men's room extremely small and super dirty. Had to actually fix the stopper in the tank so it would flush. Definitely tourist prices and Biden inflation at work here.

We ordered 2 appetizers, onion rings and garlic bread. The onion rings were thin, which I’ve never had and they were phenomenal! The garlic bread was made perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. For our meals we ordered 2 small pizzas, a cheese and a BBQ Chicken. Not only did our waitress Ashlee put the cheese pizza order in correctly, the chef made it perfectly! The BBQ chicken pizza was AMAZING. The chicken was delicious, and then to add it to everything else…. Chefs kiss. We will definitely be back! Also, the customer service was amazing and quick too!

I've been going here since around 1982, they have excellent pizza, I love their buttery and crisp crust and their sauce is awesome. My favorites are the sausage pizza (the sausage is thinly sliced link sausage) and roast beef grinder. It's hard to go wrong at Angie's, it may not look great but it's old school and tasty. I live in DC now, have for over 15 years, and still crave Angie's once in awhile. Luckily I still have family in Mystic.

METAL WIRE FROM A FILTHY SCRUB BRUSH IN MY 7 YEAR OLDS SPAGHETTI!!!

Slap a bob on me and call me Karen cause I wanna talk to your manager.

Immediately when I walked in the place looked dingy. The windows and blinds at the tables clearly never get cleaned. I shrugged it off since our table APPEARED to be clean. I went to wash my hands in the women’s bathroom before eating and it was so disgusting in there. Obvious mold in the grout. Toilet coming apart from the floor. My boyfriend said there was no soap in the Men’s bathroom. 🤮 While waiting for our food the staff behind the counter were swearing and complaining about being scheduled on a day they didn’t want to work.

At this point I chose not to complain. We chose Angeies because we assumed we could save a little money by going to a pizza place rather than one of the super busy/ expensive tourist destinations. The prices were way up there. Close to $17 just for a wrap. When I grabbed my fork it still had someone’s leftover food in the prongs. I STILL DIDN’T complain. We got a skimpy portion of whole belly clams, a gyro and spaghetti with meatballs that barely had any sauce. The clams were okay but not great.

My 7 year old goes to hand me something and asked me what it was. It was a freaking dirty germ filled wire bristle from a scrub brush. I immediately brought it to our waitress and went straight into Karen mode and I don’t even feel bad about it. I’m completely livid. After a long day at the aquarium we went for a very late lunch. So having to explain to my 7 year old that he couldn’t finish his food was so difficult.

To the guy behind the counter that was wondering why this lady is so mad, that’s why. It’s incredibly rare for me to go out of my way to write a bad review, but this...

My partner and myself, who aren't from the area, were on our lunch break & wanted to find a local place rather than the usual fast food. We happened to be driving by Angie's & thought that it looked promising, so in we went. We seated ourselves in a booth and were promptly attended to by our waitperson who supplied us with menus & took our order for drinks while we perused their offerings. I had initially thought about getting a pizza, but thought we might not have time since our break is only 30 minutes. So I ordered the "Black & Blue" burger platter (cajun blackened burger with blue cheese, lettuce & tomato, with fries & a side of coleslaw). I asked if I could add bacon to it, which our waitperson said was no problem. She also asked how I would like the burger, which always makes me happy- I'm a confirmed carnivore & like all my beef cooked medium rare whenever possible. My partner ordered the chicken parmesan sandwich platter, with fries and coleslaw also. The food arrived relatively quickly (about 15 minutes or so). My burger was quite tasty, and cooked exactly as I requested. My partner raved that his chicken parmesan sandwich was one of the best he had tried in quite some time. I asked our waitperson when I saw her again if we could have separate checks, which she said was no problem. My partner's came out right around $15 for his sandwich platter & drink, while mine was a little more (due to adding bacon) at around $17.50. All told, we were extremely happy with our food & service- about twenty bucks each (including gratuity), and quick enough that we were in & out in slightly over 30 minutes. So just about perfect! Would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonable sit down lunch or dinner option in downtown Mystic- two...

I would ordinarily give Angie's Pizza and Pier 27 an absolutely glowing review- until today.

I have gone there numerous times for happy hour and enjoyed myself tremendously. Unfortunately, I made the unforgivable mistake today of stopping in as a "single" on Mystic Irish Parade day. As soon as the bartender noted that I was by myself at a 4-top, when I would certainly have taken a seat at the bar by myself or a small 2-top, there was nothing else available (and I was there well ahead of the end-of-the-parade crowd).

Nevertheless, I got quite a look from the bartender and scolded a bit with, "We have a big crowd coming in, so…"

Not once in my life have I ever left a restaurant/bar and intentionally NOT left a tip due to how I was treated by a server or anyone in the establishment. Today was another first....

Ironically hours earlier, I was singing along to "you ought to try Angie's, where the locals lay it down," but you might as well go to "little Mystic Pizza that Hollywood found." NEVER thought I would say this- because I love the happy hour and seeing local talent perform there- but the Almighty dollar is all that rules in Mystic, Connecticut, even at Angie's Pizza & Pier 27. I will never spend another DIME...
