We visited this place because of all of the good reviews on the web; the latest was dated a year ago. I don't know what happen with the place but it is really bad now. The STAFF: We made reservations a week ahead and arrived even a bit earlier than our scheduled time to an empty restaurant and still waited and waited for everything. Waitress did not know much of the menu or English so we couldn't get any info. Food was brought with huge time intervals where one would finish eating and another did not even start. The MENUE: Looked like food picture encyclopedia and did not have prices for 80% of the items listed. Waitress had no clue about any of the prices and called a manager... He came, talked to one person and left. The remaining 10 of us were left without any info. We ended up ordering from basic selections that had prices. The FOOD: for the most part was edible except they used RANCID oil to fry tempura flakes and put them on most of the dishes (like Kani salad), which made them inedible so we send them back. The only good thing about food was the presentation, which could not make up for quality and hi prices. OVERALL: This was supposed to be double birthday celebration, but we left tired and completely dissatisfied from "Johnny's Peking...

I am not one to write reviews but after the traumatizing experience I received at this establishment it’s necessary. I have been visiting this restaurant for years all my experiences were great. Decided to visit this restaurant for my birthday and I have to say this was the worst end to my day.

I was so uncomfortable and upset I left this place in tears! Tears on my birthday!!! We sat there and watch the waitress tend to everyone and everything but my table. I literally had to ask other waiters for assistance because to my waitress, the table I sat at clearly didn’t exist. The food took forever and when it did arrive , the waitress at no point came over to ask if we need anything or even remove the dirty dishes. I lost my appetite asked for the food to go.

I have been to sooooo many restaurant and this is for sure my WORST EXPERIENCE! I have celebrated more than one of birthdays and even brought my mom here for Mother’s Day and it was great.

I was excited to go to this restaurant and dine in again because last year that wasn’t an option. But here I am regretting that I decided to have dinner at...

I recently visited this Chinese-Japanese fusion spot and was excited to try the Katsudon as I saw it on an [old] menu posted online. When I searched the latest menu at the restaurant, I could not find it on there. I then explained my order to the waitress, Sara, I described it as a fried pork cutlet in a bowl over rice.

Sara assured me three things: The garlic pork menu item matched my description It was not spicy It would be served over rice

It was none of those things. When the food arrived, I was struck with confusion. "Is this my order? Maybe there was a mistake?". After waiting for it to cool, I took approximately 6 bites before being asked if I wanted to pack it in a box.

Looking back, it feels like she was just trying to get me to rush through and pick something from the menu even though it's not what I wanted. Perhaps they don't like solo diners in the restaurant? I felt rushed from the beginning. The food was fine if one likes this type of food. I did not get what I wanted, but the wait staff made my experience feel...

When we arrived it didn't look like anything special on the outside, but the interior is really nice and the servers are really attentive and know every detail about each item in case you're confused. The menu is very detailed and feels like a hard copy of a book, lots of pictures, interesting facts about Asian cuisine, it looks really pretty. It also has many options of sushi and hot plates, including vegetarian dishes. We received a complimentary hand roll as soon as we arrived and that was delicious! The food was amazing, fish was fresh and the rice-to-fish ratio was perfect. We forgot to take pictures of the other dishes we got but we highly recommend this restaurant in the Mystic area. Try the wagyu beef sushi, it's delicious and kind of different from what you get in other sushi restaurants.

The taste of the sushi was really good, I loved it! But the price was outrageous. I ordered a la carte and it was acceptable pricing but my friend ordered a specialty roll. She got 6 tiny pieces that definitely wasn't enough so we ordered another roll. The second roll was 8 tiny pieces. There's no prices for the specialty rolls on the menu. Come to find out they were $19 EACH! We had a miso soup, a regular roll, 4 single sushi, the 2 rolls - no drinks. With tip it came up to $80! For LUNCH! And I still wasn't full afterwards. I would stick to a la carte sushi and not bother with the overpriced, tiny specialty rolls.
