Read moreSee edit below. 10/30/2024: Very allergy friendly!! I am severely allergic to dairy, nuts, and shellfish. First time, I got the grilled chicken and he got steak with Nanas sourdough bread. So good, I returned for my birthday dinner: I got rigatoni with no cheese, he got tagliatelle. Pasta is perfectly al dente, and perfect amount of spicy. Got Sicilian Mule both visits (MY FAVORITE), limoncello spritz, and amalfi lemonade. All servers are so friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about allergens/ingredients, but especially Kerry A. As locals, we will be back again! 5 stars for everything.
EDIT 1/6/2025: I went back a 3rd time for a family birthday. I ordered Tagliatelle without parmeseano reggiano, voiced my dairy allergy to waitress and she ensured for all allergies she notes them 3 times: on the order paper, in the computer, and vocally to the chefs. I took a bite of my pasta, had a reaction, and noticed when I mixed my pasta around it was stringy (as if there was cheese). We asked our waitress to verify that my plate was dairy-free and she was confident that there was no dairy. When we confronted her that I was experiencing a reaction and asked her to please verify with the kitchen, she apologized and finally went back to check. The manager came out and told me that the Tagliatelle was definitely not dairy free, as there is cream cooked into the bolognese sauce in the pot for hours and that the dairy in the dish does not only come from parmesean sprinkled on top. They did replace my dish with a spaghetti and marina that was allergy friendly, but the manager's tone came off as if it was my fault for ordering a dish with cheese, rather than taking responsibility. I also believe it was not JUST cream in my dish, I think there was parmesean as well since it was STRINGY! Very disappointed. Food does taste good, but please be extra careful if you have...
Read moreStaff: Every staff person we interacted with, from the hostess Paige to our server Josh, was excellent and very attentive. The young lady that cleared our dishes in between courses was nice and the gentleman that delivered our food was friendly. The manager stopped by to check on us.
Atmosphere: they did a wonderful job with the conversion from Go Fish (the restaurant that was in the space previously).
HowEVER… three out of our four entrees were terrible, which is so disappointing, b/c I really wanted to like this place! There are clearly issues with the quality of their seafood and the knowledge of the chefs behind the line.
The 1.5lb grilled lobster (menu item, not special) was leathery and had almost zero flavor. Extremely disappointing for an almost-fifty dollar plate. It came in sauce with shell crackers and a small fork but no wipes. It was very messy.
The halibut was cooked adequately (slightly overdone) but the fish itself tasted very “fishy”, which is unusual for halibut. The broccolini was fine but the asparagus was reedy and some were yellow - not fresh.
The colossal shrimp was supposed to come with a fennel salad but came out on a bed of arugula (not a big deal), but the shrimp had a very strong chemical taste (?) and was charred to within an inch of its life. In addition, it was leathery and overcooked.
And yes, we should have told the manager this, but what do you say when someone comes out, flashing all “thumbs up”, and says, “Everything is tasting great for you?”. That’s not how you ask a question you really want the answer to. We didn’t have time to send three entrees back. And, as harried moms, we were just so grateful that we didn’t have to prepare the food and wash the dishes.
If there were an issue with just one entree we’d be willing to try again but despite the excellent service and wonderful location, we...
