I had been looking forward to visiting this popular spot for a while, and overall, it lived up to the hype—with just a couple of drawbacks.
First, I was really hoping to sit at one of the honeycomb booths. I absolutely loved the aesthetic, but unfortunately, only the ground-level tables were available during my visit—and even those were hard to come by due to how busy it was. The upstairs booths appeared to be off-limits at the time, which was a bit disappointing.
Second, I ordered two ramen dishes to-go—one miso and one kimchi, each with several extra add-ons. Sadly, the takeout experience didn't match the quality of dining in. Most of the add-ons were missing except for the extra kimchi broth. I didn’t receive the extra eggs, bamboo shoots, or the extra pork I had added to the miso. And only one of the containers of toppings were included, so i ended eating my miso ramen with only broth, noodles and pork, i gave my girlfriend the corn, seaweed, etc.... My girlfriend and I were really disappointed, especially since we didn’t realize until we got back home to the east side of Cleveland—about a 30-minute drive—and the add-ons were not cheap, I kind of felt betrayed..
That said, my dine-in experience was fantastic. The broths were deep, rich, and incredibly flavorful. And the space is so well decorated, it's very welcoming inside and plenty of space when you're seated. We also loved the passion fruit tea so much that we ended up ordering refills. The staff was impressively attentive and friendly, especially considering how new and busy the place is. A special shoutout to our hostess Maggie, who was kind and genuinely made our experience feel special.
All in all, I really did love this place and would definitely come back—though next time, I’d probably skip the takeout until they’ve had more time to iron out those issues. Once they fix this and the honeycomb booths, I can say this is a 5 star...
Read moreI did a carry out order yesterday, first time coming here.. they recently opened and alot of my co-workers was hyping it up. I drove 30min after work because I was curious to see what all the hype was about, plus.. I was very happy to see that they are open til 10pm! My first red flag was, the lady over the phone didn’t seem to know the menu.. and what I wanted. I understand this restaurant is new, so the employees are also new. I can’t really take stars off for that, but I am because I ended up getting a couple wrong things. I was sad to see that they only have 1 ramen bowl that caters to vegetarians/vegans and it seems that their egg is not vegetarian because it is half marinated.. which was a disappointment, ramen eggs are the best! Whenever I order Ramen from a place like this, I try to see how authentic it is.. on a scale of authenticity, this place is probably about a 5/10 maybe 6.. I have seen alot worse in north eastern ohio. I loved the way they packaged my to go.. the bags was very neat!!! The people was very friendly!!! The prices are relatively reasonable.. I just wasn’t impressed with the food itself. It still wasn’t terrible, I would come here again mainly because they are open later than other places.. which in itself is a HUGE PLUS!! I would like to see all the staff members become comfortable with the menu, and if they are stumbled on something.. not to be afraid to ask questions from the customer or even help from another co-worker. I wish they had 1 or 2 more options that have vegetable broth instead of animal broth.. maybe a vegetable broth ramen with shrimp in it, for pescatarians like myself. And I would love to be able to have a ramen egg!! I did not try the TBaar, this review is...
Read moreFinally made a trip to Kyuramen that I've been waiting for since fall of 2024. We decided to go on a weekday lunch time to avoid any potential crowds. It was slightly off peak lunch hour, around 2pm and there were plenty of tables. The servers asked if we would be ok with the bar top but was able to accommodate a booth request.
We were greeted pretty quickly by the server. We ordered the popcorn chicken and pork bao buns as appetizers. Our server mentioned the combo option where you can add 1 pork bun and a thai iced tea for $6.99 extra, so we changed one order to that.
Popcorn chicken was very tender, delicious and seasoned well. I thought the sauce was pretty good too. Portion size seemed a little smaller than what I was used to at my local ramen shop.
Pork bao bun was flavorful. I do wish the pork piece was a bit larger. It was buried in the bun and you could only see it because they placed it towards the edge.
Ramen had plenty of broth. It definitely had a kick as ordered. Satisfied my ramen craving. One negative thing is the chashu is extremely thinly sliced. It's like store bought deli ham. You get 2 slices but it doesn't even come close to all of the other places I've had ramen. It had the thinnest slices EVER. For the price, I felt the ramen felt short. There was a fun game at the end of the bowl where you could win a prize. No one had mentioned it except the sign at the table. I over did the broth trying to see if I won and almost died.
Overall, it is a delicious ramen spot. But we spent $64 for 2 ramen, 2 apps, and 2 drinks. I normally spend less than $50 at a new ramen shop near me for the same thing minus bao buns, so Kyuramen was on the...
