Shah's Halal Food — Restaurant in Strongsville

I wanted to try and enjoy the popular NYC style halal food. We tried the lamb & chicken over rice combo, as well as chicken sandwich and french fries, but cannot say we enjoyed anything..

Their rice was dry, therefore tasteless, despite of lots of cumin in it. The chicken was OK, but nothing impressive. The lamb is a joke, or let me say it better, trash. it is the typical frozen gyro cone that is served at all similar restaurants. They just cook it on flat grill, not on a rotating spit grill. They call it lamb, and they say 'contains beef' in parenthesis. Then why do you call it Lamb then, instead of Lamb & Beef? Why don't you also say that it is full with bread crumbs? Why don't you say that this is the cheapest junk version of lamb? They cook it on flat grill and keep it in trays over steam. The lamb they served to us was dry and tasteless. They offer something that they call 'hummus', which has nothing to do with authentic version of hummus. It is the most tasteless hummus-like paste. Their other toppings are very limited, which are lettuce, diced tomatoes, onion, cucumbers, etc...Nothing appetizing. The famous white sauce is just another version of mayo. You succeed it. We are not coming back again.

The thing they call Chicken Sandwich is a piece of frozen chicken breast that is fried in deep frier and served in a hamburger bun with lettuce and a paper thin slice of cheese. Their fries are too thick. Therefore another tasteless item.

Although we were there during their $7 platters week, I will not want to pay $7 for such a plate. Forget the regular price of $12. This store will live for 12 mos, until all interested people come and try their food once,...

I had a great experience at Shah’s Halal Food, and a big part of that was thanks to Radhika’s excellent service. From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, attentive, and professional. She took the time to walk me through the menu, made helpful suggestions, and ensured my order was exactly how I wanted it. Throughout the visit, her positive attitude and genuine care stood out — it’s not often you come across someone who clearly takes pride in what they do. Even during a busy time, she stayed calm and efficient, making sure every customer was looked after. The food was delicious, but Radhika’s service made the overall experience even more memorable. The other day I had the opportunity to try Shah’s during their opening day. The line was extremely long and had to wait quite a lot which I was expecting because they were offering free platters to celebrate their opening day. The wait was so well worth it though! Omg their platter was delicious, you could tell all the ingredients were extremely fresh, the meat was super tasty and good and their white sauce was just out of this world! Extremely addictive!!!! I’m sure they are going to do great and I can’t wait to be back because not just the food was amazing, the service was very good too and fast given the insane amount of pressure they had with all the people that showed up!
