Dearest Mark & Ellie's Deli Staff,

After careful consideration at the office of today's lunch choice, we opted to choose Ellie's Deli. It was my first time trying Ellie's and I am quite pleased to report that the sweet and succulent taste of The Brie Zen Jumbo Wrap made my lips quiver like the wings of a cicada on a warm summer night. I can assure you I will forever be a repeat customer. The food was ready for pickup within a half hour and the office staff was overjoyed with the abundance of aroma and flavor that flooded the sales floor. The portions were very gracious and worth every penny that was spent. That being said, there was only one flaw with today's lunch. The whole pickle I ordered on the side was not wrapped appropriately and proceeded to degrade the structural make-up of the paper bag in which the food was stored. While not an issue for me, one of my coworkers is greatly disturbed by the sight and smells of pickles. By the time my poor coworker made it inside with the food, my foil wrapped preserved cucumber had leaked all over her desk with the intensity of the Falls of Niagra. It took her a few minutes to regroup but she was able to muster her appetite and eat her Buffalo Chicken Jumbo wrap with great exultation. Thankfully I was able to keep her from issuing a formal complaint with HR on account of my "leaky pickle". I am sure that this was a one time error and won't happen again. I look forward to enjoying the delectable food from Ellie's in the very near future.

Twice Disappointed In addition to oil and vinegar, the Italian Combo comes with a Balsamic Glaze which heightens the sandwich from just being any Italian Combo to something a little more gourmet. Unfortunately, when you order the sandwich to be delivered and request that the glaze, oil, and vinegar be put on the side to avoid the sandwich getting soggy in transit, they leave out the glaze completely. This has happened to me twice when I order from this deli. The first time it happened, I chalked it up to it just being forgotten but when it happened the 2nd time, even though it was explicitly put in the instructions, I realized it was incompetence. I called the deli to complain. The young lady who answered the phone was very nice and asked if I wanted them to bring it over, for which I was pleased. However, I received a call back saying that my location was too far away and did I want to come to pick it up? What? I ordered from a delivery app. If I wanted to leave my office and drive the 6 minutes, 1.8-mile drive, I would have done that, to begin with! I explained again that this is the 2nd time this has happened and would they rather lose a customer than deliver the missing piece of my sandwich? We have used Ellie’s Downtown Catering on three occasions and are somewhat frequent patrons of their downtown location. Our experiences with them have been consistently outstanding. For our first event, we ordered several quiches for our annual Easter egg hunt, which were well loved by all attendees - including the kids. Subsequently, my mother utilized their services for my 30th birthday party, and they provided an extensive array of food that was highly praised by our guests. Most notably, we enlisted their catering for our wedding at Kai-Kai Farms, where the food received exceptional compliments. Mark and his team demonstrated thoroughness and efficiency in ensuring our needs were met. Both my spouse and I were thoroughly impressed with the hors d’oeuvre selection and dinner service (numerous guests remarked that the Caesar salad was the best they had ever tasted).
