Butch's Bar — Restaurant in Sturgeon Bay

Just went to check out the place and hang with some friends, but was kicked out after one friend did not have her ID. We did not even order any drinks, just went to play darts and pool. There was no sign or indication that said you NEED your ID to ENTER THE BAR. Bartender didn't even check our male friends' or other customers' ID while we were there until some customer asked if we wanted drinks. We told the bartender we weren't drinking and he insisted that we needed to show our IDs or else we couldn't be inside. Yet, he didn't even ask for our male friends' IDs or the customer's ID. Ultimately one of us gave him our ID after some back and forth, and this old hag was making it seem like it was a fake ID, when it was in fact very real as we are all well over 21. He let my male friends stay and the girls were kicked out for not showing IDs (mind you, he still didnt even ask for my male friends' IDs.) Would not go back after being treated like that. SEXIST AND RACIST bartender. (Idk what his name was but he was an old man, and I sure hope he sees this and reflects on his actions. What an amazing hidden gem! Long time Wisonsin natives back to visit and loved this live music dive bar. Clarence the 87 year old bartender and owner is the nicest guy, poured great drinks, cheap drinks, offered up fun conversation and good local history. Who says there's no night life in door county hasn't been here yet! A must to enjoy live music and fun times...
