I usually love to go to Kokee Tea every time I am at the Mall of Georgia, but today I had a bad experience. I ordered one of my usuals, the Strawberry Milk Tea. When I drank it, the drink did not taste right at all. Not like how it usually does. Also, the drink I got was brown, not pink, despite the label reading that it was indeed my order (so it’s not like I picked up someone else’s order). I then go back in line and explain to the cashier that my drink was made wrong. I said I’m sorry for the inconvenience, and that I wasn’t mad or anything, but if they can remake the drink. The cashier looked at the label and told me I was wrong, and that it is indeed Strawberry Milk Tea because the label says so. I acknowledged that the label does say “Strawberry Milk Tea” but it does not taste like it. It was just a simple mistake. The drink doesn’t look like how it usually does. As I am showing the cashier the drink, he grabs it, TAKES A SIP FROM THE STRAW, and proceeds to try to hand it back to me, gesturing that it does indeed taste wrong, but he wanted me to deal with it anyway. I gave him a confused look and he ended up retracting his statement and remade the drink anyway. All the while he was giving me major attitude. Like, listen, I’m not gonna say that the customer is always right, but if I said the drink doesn’t taste right, just spare yourself the time and remake it. That’s what you’re supposed to do. I wasn’t going in there causing a ruckus. The whole time I was apologizing profusely. And what was this guy thinking? Taking a sip out of my drink and trying to hand it back to me?? Gross! I’m not even posting this review because of the mistake with my order. Mistakes happen. It was just that awful cashier. There are other places for boba tea in the mall that I will go to instead from now on. Kokee Tea will not be receiving my...
Read moreMy first time visiting this location. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, but it was not busy by any means. There were three customers in front of me. There were 5 employees behind the line, 3 of them making drinks, 1 on POS, and 1 standing behind the line doing nothing except leaning on the counter. I witnessed this same employee roll her eyes at a customer because the customer did not hear their drink being called out over the loud music being played. After I ordered and proceeded to wait by the drink handoff, this employee continued to lean over the counter with her head in her hands, continuously touching her face and at no point washed her hands or offered to help her employees (who were actively working behind her). As someone who works in food and bev, it is hard to overlook this behavior. This is certainly not behavior that you want your employees to be exhibiting, as it sets a poor example for the company, and might deter customers from returning.
As far as the drink, I ordered a thai tea with crystal boba, 50% sweet. It tasted more like milk than tea, so perhaps the tea was not brewed long enough to give enough of that strong flavor. (I've noticed that other reviews have stated that their drinks tasted "watered down".) The gentleman who handed my drink off was friendly, and connected with a smile as he gave me my drink. I would rate my experience "OK" over all, but I am not sure that I will...
Read moreMy cashiers name was "Lee", unsure of exact spelling. There was no one there when we arrived. I went up and looked at the menu and was asked "What do you want?". I responded "I don't know yet". She took extreme offense to this, for whatever reason. And she responded "Well I was just asking, if you don't know what you want you can return to your regular business." Verbatim. Word for word. I, shocked, responded "Oh, im so sorry". She just glared at me at the register. I out of shock and being uncomfortable ordered a honey milk tea. It's average, and that's being kind. As I grabbed my drink I noticed the health score was 83, last scoring 53. I would rather drink iced sewage water with rusty nails than ever step foot in this place again.
This "business" is not a business. It's shocking and a disgrace. And, quite frankly, the McDonald's of Milk Tea as a whole. Please spare your time, money, and energy.
A better chain, nearby this location is "Kung Fu Tea" and they won't harrass you for...
