SHAMEFUL! This place opened just by my house. I have used the location on Highway six for probably 15 years or more. I have to have gluten-free. For any event, I always get myself and my husband a gluten-free small cake so that we may have something when the rest of the family does. I did not have time to drive over to Highway six I decided to take a chance on this new location even though I hardly see cars in the parking lot I thought well it’s a franchise so at least I know what I’m getting. WRONG! I CALLED FIRST, to confirm that their cakes are made daily. I was insured twice that they were made fresh every single day. I go up there approximately between three and four on 3/21. I bought four cakes two of them gluten-free. I have read the reviews about their stuff being soggy. This is the partial reason for me confirming that they are made fresh daily. I’ve also seen reviews about the gluten-free being too dense. That is just how these cakes are. I’ve eaten them for about 10 years. they are very dense they’re very moist. I cannot eat a whole one. I keep it in my refrigerator about three days before I throw it out if I haven’t finished it and it’s always very moist, but it is a little dense. When I get there to pick up the cakes, I ask a third time are they DEFINITELY made every single day? I was for a third time assured that they were fresh. I get home. We get ready to have the birthday cake for my son. I take a bite out of mine and it’s so god awfully dry. I had to spit it out in the sink because I couldn’t get it to go down my throat. I am guesstimating here, but if I can buy it fresh at the location on Highway six, which I know they make every single day and I can keep it at home for three days and it still be moist and fresh and just as good as the day I bought it how can I buy one that is so dry I almost choked and had to throw it away the day that I bought it that tells me it’s at a minimum four days or more old . If that indeed is not the situation, then I would be looking to the person who supposedly bakes these every day and why they cannot follow a franchise recipe!? The bottom line is these girls lied. The cake was not fresh. They were too little teenagers who didn’t know when their manager or the owner would be in. (I called) if the owner reads this, I hope you do better. You need to go through and read all of your reviews. A lot of this is fixable. If you don’t have the Customer base yet don’t make so many cakes and put them out day after day thinking somebody’s gonna buy them because at the end of the day When you have an experience like this at least in my case, I will never come back to your location, I would rather drive over to Highway six where I know it’s fresh and much better Service as well. You should possibly make smaller batches to ensure that the item is fresh so the customer will come back. Flat out lying to a customer to get a sale is disgusting. ENTIRE THING WENT DIRECTLY IN TRASH AS IT WAS...
Read moreToday I arrived at this location roughly 20 minutes early as I thought it opened at 10:00a like the Sugar Land location. While waiting in my car I witnessed a woman of Indian descent walk up to the door and retrieve a cake she ordered. I wait a few minutes now 10 minutes before and I see an Asian male approaching the door so I approach as well. I gentleman allow me to approach the door first so I meet with an employee with a name tags that says Christine at the door and request to pick up a pre-ordered cake. She tells me I have to wait until they open. She then proceeds to take the Asian male request and give him his pre-ordered cake. I approach the door again and ask Christine why to I have to wait until the store opens in less than 10 minutes if she giving other people their cake. She tell me the Asian guy was Uber (not sure why that is different) so I said ok but the other lady was not so why? She asks me to wait and I politely abide by her request. Once the store opens I go inside to retrieve my cake and ask again why me only me had to wait for a cake that I pre-ordered. Another employee chimes in and says “Well sometimes we’re nice.” Confused I ask her “sometimes???” to clarify and she confirms that yes sometimes we’re not a let people have their cake. So now I’m offended and asked her if she selectively chose the not give me my cake and she replied well we’re weren’t opened. I politely asked her for a Managers name and she told me she could not disclose that information to me so I asked for an owner’s name or a store number and she also confirmed this was information she could not disclose.
I left feeling very disappointed and disrespected and I would like to think this was an isolated incident but the customer service on this day felt selectively unpleasant. Both Danielle and Christine could’ve handled this matter more professionally. I understand they are young but that’s no excuse for poor customer service.
And to top things off my cake was not gift wrapped in Cellophane as I ordered. But the cake that the other lady picked up was.
Terrible experience and ruined my entire morning on my son’s 3rd birthday. Never buying from this location again. Still...
Read moreHad been dying to make it over there for months and months. My sister had a doctor appointment near by so we swung through to get a snack on our way home. I ordered 3 individual serving cakes. Cost was just pennies under $20.00. Quite pricey, but very delicious. And that's actually fine...it's the fact that you cannot get a fork or napkin unless you bought their $5 or $5.50 serving set...fork, plate and napkin (i think a napkin) in a cellophane bag that i found offensive. Really didn't care to spend $32.00 which would break down to $10.00 for each serving of cake from a business that does not respect its customers enough to provide a fork at no charge. I wouldn't be opposed to paying a quarter if necessary (although I still find it in poor form) for a piece of cutlery that we needed to enjoy our cakes. They were great cakes. I don't know about the company and the people though. Terrible first impression. I won't ever patronize this or any food serving establishment that will not provide a fork. What's next? Will they just scoop the cake onto your bare hands....
