On July 21, 2023 I went to Perry’s Steakhouse & Grill located at 2115 Town Square Place, Sugar Land, TX 77479. I frequently visit this location (3 to 4 times per month for business reasons), however, this visit was for personal reasons. I was on a lunch date with a friend which was her first-time experience at your restaurant. As we entered the Restaurant we were greeted with warm, cordial and smiling hostesses. Our wait time was extremely short although we arrived 15 minutes before our reservations. We had a very nice lunch; the atmosphere was awesome and the food and staff were excellent as usual.
Upon exiting the restaurant, I gave our ticket to the individual sitting at the valet desk. There was a line of other guests waiting for their vehicle as well, so we patiently waited. After all the guest ahead of us got their vehicle, some after us were getting theirs so I approached the person working the valet desk and I simply asked “I have been waiting for a while, my truck should be here by now.” He told me, “Sir you have only been here 5 minutes there are others ahead of you”, I told him there were several ahead of me and they are no longer here and I am still waiting, his response was “Your car is coming”. I watched someone walk out of the restaurant and give their ticket to the valet person. He immediately took the ticket, got their keys and handed them to another valet assistance to get their vehicle. I approached the desk again and I informed the same person that I had just watched this particular guest come out and give a ticket and his car was being brought around and my vehicle still had not arrived. My date started talking to the manager and he got rude with her then I jumped in and told him to stop talking to us. He kept talking to us and I looked at the manager and said this is what I’m talking about, he has no customer service experience, he is rude. That’s when he told me it was just $5.00 and I could have it back. I told him that’s not the point I will not be disrespected after coming here and spending over a $100! At this point, he came into my face as if he wanted to fight. The manager kept asking him to go inside the restaurant but he kept egging me on and taunting me. I’m a disabled veteran who recently had a hip replacement. I dropped my cane and went at him. By this time, there was a crowd of people who saw this and one individual grabbed me and was telling me can’t you see this is what he wants. Let it go, although he was being rude to you, he is not worth it; I immediately backed off. The manager stated that she would return the $5.00 we had paid for valet parking and we informed her that it was not about the money it was the principal. I also informed her that I always tip the valet driver but the money was not an issue, it was the rude service we had received from this individual. The manager informed them to just get the car and he said again it is coming he does not want to wait. Then I told her he keeps saying my car is on its way and coming, she said yes and then I asked her then why are my keys still right there on the desk. She looked at them and stated to go get the car. One of the other valet persons got the keys and went and got my truck. I said so not only is he rude but he is a liar. A 5-minute wait for a vehicle turned into 20 minutes.
By the time we arrived at my date resident, she was receiving a call from the manager. We had made reservations and therefore the front desk remembered who we were. The manager wanted to make sure we were okay and to apologize again for the incident. She also stated that she had spoken with the valet manager and to be expecting a call from him.
Because of the valet service I will no longer be coming to this location. Valet personnel tried to start a fight with me. I will be sending a detailed letter to the corporate...
Read moreWe were first introduced to Perry’s in 1997 at the Clear Lake location, and we quickly became big fans of their food and service. We have maintained our loyalty to Perry’s over the years and mainly visit the Sugar Land, TX location as it is closest to our home in Missouri City. For the past 25 years, I cannot recall even one time that the food quality has not been excellent. Even as the prices invariably rise, we still find the outstanding quality of the food worth the price of admission. However, as the atrocious level of customer service inexplicably continues to spiral downward at the Sugar Land location, we are quickly approaching the line whereby the enjoyment of the food no longer exceeds the regrettable, disappointing level of customer service (inattentive, uncaring, unhelpful, indifferent, etc.). We may actually have crossed the line last evening (Valentine’s Day 2022). When we pulled up curbside at 5:30PM (the time we scheduled for our Candlelight Dinner for 2 To-Go when we called in our reservation the previous Friday afternoon), we gave the attendant our name for the curbside to-go order. He told us to pull up behind another car and park. Shortly after 6:00PM, when no one came to our car to bring us our food or to tell us what the delay was, I decided to go to the front desk and see if I could get some assistance. At first, I spoke to a young lady in front of the counter and gave her our name and told her we were waiting over one-half hour at the curb for our dinner. She turned to another young lady behind the counter who had on a headset, who then proceeded to speak to someone over the headset. No one said anything to me any further, but I guessed that it would be coming out shortly. After 5 more minutes or so, when my food still had not arrived, I asked the first young lady if my food was coming out shortly. Again, she just turned to the other young lady, who spoke into her headset again, but never addressed me. After another 5 minutes or so, I just went to the young lady behind the counter and asked her if I could please speak to a manager. The manager was right there quickly, and I explained my problem. He then spoke into his headset and disappeared. I thought he was getting our food. After a few more minutes, I went to find the manager and he was finally just coming out with our food. No explanation for the delay and no apology. He just asked if I paid already or how would I like to pay. I asked him how much the total cost as and he told me $154.06. I gave him a $125 gift card and a $25 bonus gift card and 5 one-dollar bills. As I was leaving to go to my car, a young lady was carrying several bags of to-go orders out to cars that had arrived well after we did. To top off this wonderful experience, the manager came running out to tell me I still owed more money. When I explained that I did not, he just said ok and left. Again, no apology – nothing. Once we arrived home and ate, the food was delicious, but the pitiful level of customer service we had received certainly put a damper on what should have been a romantic...
Read moreI don’t normally go for the chain restaurants, but there are a few that I like and one of them is Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille. When I learned about an opportunity to meet some other people at this location in Sugar Land, I gladly accepted the invitation, confident that my visit here would be just as good as my experiences at other locations in this chain.
This Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille location is in Sugar Land’s Town Square/City Walk area, a place known for its large selection of restaurants. There are many fine choices of places to dine in Town Square, but Perry’s is one of the better choices when you’re in the mood for a more elegant dining experience.
Entering Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille, you will notice immediately the dim lighting, comfortable seating, and other qualities indicative of a fine restaurant. There is a large section of wine that is behind a glass closure, complete with a ladder so that the staff can retrieve the bottle you desire. Wine is in large and abundant supply at Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille, but they have a full bar that will make any drink you like plus a significant and respectable craft beer selection, perfect for the beer snobs among us, of which I am one.
On past visits to Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille, I have usually ordered a steak or the famous pork chops, but this time I decided to order chicken parmesan. It was delicious, as expected, and the fresh green beans and crème brulee dessert rounded out my meal in style. I started off with a wedge salad that was actually quite a bit larger than I expected and more filling then I bargained for. Lucky for me, the chicken parmesan wasn’t too large and I was able to finish everything I was served. Had I ordered a steak, I wouldn’t have been able to eat all of the food.
With parking, guests can valet or they can look for a place on the street. If you don’t want to do valet and can’t find an open place on the nearby street, just go ahead and park in the garage across from Perry’s, used by guests staying at the Marriott hotel. The parking is free here, just be sure not to park in the spaces designated for hotel guests.
I love a good steakhouse and Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille in Sugar Land is a restaurant that easily earns a recommendation from me. It’s a little on the pricey side, yes. But the quality and service are both up to par and you will leave...
