True story you guys. Recently, I visited the Grub Park located at 610 South & Fannin to support Black Owned Businesses. I’ve been looking forward for so many months to eat at this food park. Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake and chose Stewart Brotha BBQ first. I should have went to the other BBQ man that was on the lot, I’m sure his food would have been a lot better. I fully understand that buying food from these trucks can be pricey, however when you are selling food to the public. The first priority of a food truck owner is to make sure that you please your customers and give them the best of everything that your selling, so that they can be returning customers. I know a thang or two about catering food and making sure your customers are Happy. My family has been in the food catering business for nearly Thirty years. There is no way a customer should be served such “poor” quality food. I paid $30 for (3) meats: Ribs, Chicken, and Canjun Sausage 2 sides- Mac N Cheese and BBQ beans. After waiting for 20 minutes, my food was ready. Although my food was Hot!. It seemed at first nothing was wrong. However, I got all the way home and discovered that Mr. Stewart and his Brotha Assistant (the one who actually bbq the meat) gave me a “black” burnt up chicken leg and thigh. The chicken was so burnt until the bone was even black and burnt and they gave me the End parts from the slab of ribs. They were so skinny and meatless. They didn’t even give me not one good and meaty rib. The ribs were hard and chewy. However, the Canjun sausage did have a good taste. The beans were good also, BUT!!! the Mac N Cheese was thrown together with melted clumpy cheese on top of dry and over-cooked macaroni. The owner is a good salesman, he will convince you he has the best BBQ in the world and that nobody can beat his homemade sauce. That’s A Lie. The only one-star credit I will give this food truck, is the friendly customer service that he displays to the public. I truly hope this message will reach other people and the owners of this truck. Maybe they will do better...
Read moreWent today because of all the rave I was reading about the bbq, not impressed at all and for the best Que in H-town is an insult. I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and beef sausage my husband had brisket and rib plate... where do I start? 1st the brisket was tough (thank God they only gave me 2 1/2 slices) and had no seasoning, the beef sausage was heh and it was very dry, 2nd my husband's plate had 2 slices of the tough stuff and 2 ribs all for $48.00 and bless the young man's heart he needed a calculator just to see how much change we got back from $50.00. The only thing from our )meal that had flavor was the baked beans but never have I ever had salty baked beans, hubby said if his green beans hadn't been cold they may have been good and no one and I do mean no one can make potato salad but at least it was tolerable. As for you slogan "if you try it you will buy it" well I tried it and will not...
Read moreI got the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. It comes with 2 sides. I got mac n cheese and green beans. I enjoyed the ribs. The brisket was too fatty for my liking. I wonder if they offer an extra lean option for future reference. The green beans were really good. The cheese on the mac n cheese was a little to thick and overwhelming for me. I didn’t really care for it. The sauce was ok, it was a little too sweet. My husband got the beef sausage. He didn’t like it. We sampled the Cajun sausage. We didn’t like it either. The casing was too tough and it had a weird flavor. He also had the chicken. He said it was good. The baked beans and potato salad were pretty good. Overall, they are pretty decent but there is definitely room for...
