Seafood Gumbo $18.00 -- So salty it wasn't edible even when mixed with rice. The shrimp were really small but that wasn't so much the problem as the texture. They basically just kind of broke up when you bit into them. Into the garbage. 0 stars
NOLA BBQ Shrimp $29.00 -- These were nice sized shrimp with a good texture but basically flavorless and were sitting in a bland oil. There's no reason the shrimp should have been $29.00 1 star
Fried Shrimp PoBoy $17.00 -- Edible and okay. I didn't care for the way the shrimp were battered but that's a personal preference. Shrimp reminded me of cheap buffet shrimp but no flavor. 3 stars
2 orders of Bread Pudding $9.00 each -- It looked really good and had lots of icing on it and I thought it was going to be amazing. We threw these into the garbage. I can't really explain the texture of the icing but it was almost a foamy frothy texture that I couldn't stomach and had zero flavor. The bread pudding itself I just can't explain it. I basically like all bread pudding and anything, but both orders went into the garbage. $20.00. 0 stars
I understand restaurants have growing pains and they just opened, but did anyone taste any of these menu items before hand?
$82.00 before tax
This is a huge disappointment. We don't eat out very much and we thought we'd give it a try because the old Cajun Charlie's was good. We will not be revisiting and I think customers should be refunded for the food that...
Read moreNot what it used to be.. Buffet is now a joke it used to be amazing with Real Seafood not just some fresh caught catfish and popcorn shrimp out of a box..
now seems more like a Golden Coral.. overheard a waitress tell a custkmer no there wont be any fresh food put out whats there is there . Mind you all the food was old and not good at all right after lunch rush so they basically tell you eat this old food.
Ordering off the menu seems to be the only way to get decent food but then they wont sub something you cant eat for something else. As if the cooks cant read or something "its how it has to be prepared"..
Butterfly shrimp late was good but served on a bed of old cold fries.
Grilled Balckend fish gives 1 filet of mystry fish.. and isnover salted horribly.
This used to be a great spot after getting done with the graveyard to bring the family to whoever bought it between Cajun Charlie's had this place really good but since Cajun Charlie's took back over again that Buffett has went to garbage and the entire thing is a joke now sadly enough.
Did not even bother complaining because you could tell the staff on hand could care less they're just there for a paycheck this place will more than likely wind up on one of those shows like Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares or something.. sad to see this place go down...
Read moreLet's give credit where it's due - the staff were absolute rockstars, they provided great service and faked smiles to keep this disaster afloat. But holy mother of bad decisions, the food was an insult to cuisine everywhere.
HEALTH INSPECTOR ALERT: If "lukewarm" was an Olympic sport, this buffet would take gold, silver AND bronze. I'm convinced their heating lamps are powered by a single birthday candle. How this place hasn't given someone a one-way ticket to food poisoning town is nothing short of miraculous. Apparently many people tonight complained about the same thing.
$30?! For THIS?! My guy, I wouldn't feed this to my mother-in-law during tax season. The $20 Chinese buffet down the road serves fresher seafood - and we're in LOUISIANA, where serving imported seafood should be a felony. The irony is so thick you could blacken it and serve it as tonight's special.
Even Labelus - who I wouldn't trust with a microwave dinner - looks like Le Cordon Bleu compared to this trainwreck.
The only thing getting filled here is my regret. Do your stomach and wallet a favor - drive past this place like your life depends on...
