November 22, 2024:. It has been awhile so I thought we'd give it another go during the holiday season. We order from the website with a door dash (less than 10 min) delivery. Sadly, the order was incomplete, incorrect, over cooked and arrived cold with condensation soaking the food. Santee does not have the issues this location does. This is my final review of the Summerville location. The staff, food prep and service is extremely poor with no improvement over the years.
May 2021: I have reluctantly came back to review experience with curbside service at this location. Three times in the last few months we have placed orders thru the app and all 3 times we have waited at the pick up area 45 minutes or more and received cold, soggy food. We are arriving on time and making reminder/check calls every 15 mins and still receive bad service and food. I understand they are busy but they consistently forget about delivering orders to curbside even with reminders and pre-tipping. I was told this last time that they were running 1 hour past the schedule pick up time and our food was not ready when obviously it had been sitting on the rack waiting. The last thing you want is a cold steak dinner that will be over cooked if re-warmed or room temp, soggy, bacteria laden food. The excuse for staff dropping calls because the phone batteries are dead is also unacceptable. Staff and management are not up to the task or job currently at this location.
Original Review 2018: Thanksgiving Dinner was ruined! Arrived at 6:15 pm and waited little over an hour to be seated which was expected. They had a very limited working menu. To our disappointment the widely advertised fried turkey had been eliminated as we were told the cooks decided to have a simple menu. They were basically serving the roasted turkey dinner but had run out of pumpkin pie with Pecan or Apple as a substitute. This was acceptable to our party of 5. We ordered and was served close to a hour later. To our disgust the food was barely above room temperature and there was no ham or cranberry relish. We spoke to the waitress who had the manager Alex come to our table. He provided a small condiment container of relish to each of us and took our plates to be warmed. Upon returning the plates were still barely above room temperature and mine arrived with green beans which I had not ordered and did not want on my plate. I'm still not sure who's plate I received and when I told Alex of the mix up he shrugged it off and said that's ok don't worry bout the green beans and walked away. The rest of the plates looked to be scrapped from the bottom of the pans and the dressing was black and hard while the sweet potatoes were plain with no pecans or brown sugar. At this point we were extremely disappointed with the way our food had been prepared and served and request the number to corporate. This brought the manager back to our table where he repeatedly apologized and comped our meals and asked if we would like to go boxes to warm our food at home. We of course declined not knowing how long the food had been held at those temps and could possible make us ill. So here we are wasted 3 hrs of time with no turkey dinner. Btw they were telling people as we were leaving that they were out of Turkey as well as Pumpkin and Apple pie.
We have always enjoyed our meals at Cracker Barrel and this was hopefully just bad kitchen staffing and organization on the manager's part for this...
Read moreMy wife and I are a Senior couple. We are easy going and don't complain much. My wife is disabled and gets embarrassed if I complain about a stores service. Yesterday I could not help but to complain. I used Cracker Barrel's App to be put on their waiting list prior to our arrival. The store texted me that there was a 30 minute wait to please check in when I arrived. I did let them know I arrived by texting them back and also calling them on my phone. We carry my wife's wheel chair in the trunk of my car and is no easy task of taking it out and putting back in the trunk. We sat and waited for a table for over an hour before we were seated. I complained to the store manager that if they were going to advertise a 30 minute wait than they should adhere to that time frame. He acted as if he didn't care what I said. Only that my wife and I would be seated next. I also asked him why large parties of 5 or more people were being put ahead of only 2 people waiting. His excuse was they were lager and harder for them to accommodate so therefore they were first priority. It is my opinion that this is discrimination against Senior couples of 2 or less. Cracker Barrel could care less about the Senior Community. They have only 4 Disabled Parking spots at this store. I will never use their app again and it will be a cold day in HELL before I ever go back. Our server Amber wasn't much better on customer service. I observed her serving larger parties more than she served 2 people. She only came to our table to take our orders, serve our coffee and water and to bring the final bill. Some other server delivered our food of which was Luke warm not hot. I started to send it back but my wife said no. She wanted to go home and not eat of which is dangerous for her condition. This was in my opinion the worst customer service I have ever had with any restaurant. They have servers standing around chatting with each other for minutes at a time when they should be serving customers and not socializing. Bad management is the cause. The manager appears to care less about customers. I will never...
Read moreThis evening, my husband and I dined in at this establishment. Typically, we have a pleasant experience with courteous and attentive staff and good food.
This evening was an exception. We were seated immediately, and our server, Mary L (whose name I know only because it printed on the receipt), took our drink and food order within several minutes. After that, we waited about ten minutes to get our drinks and nearly an hour before our food came. During this time, Mary L stopped by our table one time to refill the drinks.
We watched as other tables around us (who were seated after us) got their food. Finally, Mary L brought our food out and said “Sorry for the wait. The kitchen got backed up for a little bit there.” Mary L did not offer to refill our mostly depleted drinks, nor did she ask if we needed anything else.
I ordered the Country Boy Breakfast with scrambled eggs, sirloin tips, hash brown casserole, and fried apples. The steak was over cooked and cold. The eggs and hash brown casserole were cold. The fried apples were still slightly warm but not piping hot as usual. My husband ordered the Hash Brown Casserole Breakfast which was also cold and barely edible.
We asked for our check when Mary L dropped off the food in fear that we would not see her again for another 30 minutes (or more). As my husband and I were getting ready to stand up to leave, Mary L brings out the biscuits that were suppose to come with my meal and said “I’m sorry it’s a little late but here are...
