Let's start with the location. It's in the parking lot of a run down motel. But some of the best food comes from hole-in-the wall places. I got the Texas burrito to go since I was staying down the street. I know presentation isn't the best when it's served in an aluminum pan so I overlooked that. I received nachos and salsa which is comparable to most other Mexican restaurants. The Texas burrito has steak, shrimp, and chicken. The chicken was completely chewy like it was over cooked. I'm sure that some items have been pre cooked since it only took 6 minutes to get my order. The burrito was edible but not really satisfying. For the price, I was expecting more. The sign over the building still advertises the previous restaurant and I wouldn't expect anything different from this place. With a horrible location and so-so food, this place probably won't be around for long.

This was in a bit of an odd location, it's in the back of the parking lot of a motel so not the ideal view especially if you're sitting outside. However, we decided to not judge it from the outside and still go in. Indoor decor was festive and a lot of seating. We were greeted right away with some chips and salsa. I ordered the 2 taco (steak/tongue) lunch plate that came with beans and rice, hubby ordered steak fajita platter. It was nice because most places that serve combos like this don't offer you many options, usually ground beef or chicken of some sort. The tacos were flavorful and I didn't care for the salsa it came with and just asked for salsa verde. Hubby's fajita came out sizzling and it was a big portion. Overall the service was good and options were nice for lunch.

Ending the last week of the month on a bright note! Today, I'm so excited to share with you a new find of mine, El Patron, Junior! Tucked behind Cracker Barrel right off of the 199 interchange of I-26 (Summerville Exit), this little gem was definitely worth checking out with the fam! Our server, Juan, was on point, and kept us laughing throughout our experience! Our fam tried the Texas fajitas, California Burrito, Speedy Gonzalez, and Enchiladas Tradicionales. The Other dishes enjoyed at our table were the Speedy Gonzalez (LOVE that name), and of course, the Miami Vice and Spicy Bloody Mary were great accompaniaments to our meal! El Patron Jr by Roger is a small, family-owned Mexican restaurant in Summerville, SC. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, but it has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they are happy to answer any question about the menu.

I recently visited El Patron Jr with my family and we tried the carnitas nachos. The nachos were served on a large plate and were piled high with crispy tortilla chips, shredded cheese, carnitas, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The carnitas were cooked perfectly and were very flavorful. The chips were also very fresh and the cheese was melted and gooey. The pico de gallo and sour cream added a nice freshness and acidity to the dish.

On another occasion I visited here over lunch, where the staff was efficient with the order, food and check. Making for a pleasant sit down experience within a time window to return to work.

I was also impressed with the staff's knowledge of allergens. I have a gluten allergy and the waiter was able to tell me which dishes were gluten-free. He also offered to make my nachos without the sour cream, which I appreciated.

Overall, I had a great experience at El Patron Jr. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the staff was knowledgeable about allergens. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good Mexican meal in...

I’ll try to keep it short & to the point. ONE STAR. Went in last night with my 3 year old, ordered steak fajitas add pineapple, didn’t get the pineapple. Didn’t complain. Chicken fingers & fries for my toddler. We got up to use the bathroom after 10min & came back & our entire table was cleaned off. I was shocked! My toddler ate two fries & part of one nugget & I took maybe 10 small bites of my plate. Owner said he would replace all of the food. 20min later they came back with our waters, chicken & fries. They didn’t replace the chips, salsa, queso OR fajitas. They promised they would & when I asked my waiter he said “no no replace nothing but chicken” as he handed me my bill. They didn’t even discount my meal. At this point I just grabbed my daughters chicken & walked out. I wasn’t too happy paying $23 for a $4.50 kids meal. I’ve been going there for a year now & as a valued customer, I expected more. Very disappointed & I more than likely...
