I am so disappointed in the customer service at Belk. I am a lifelong loyal customer who enjoys ordering online. Recently I ordered a variety of shirts and pants online. Two of the shirts that I ordered were incorrectly sent. One of the shirts was a completely different shirt than the one I ordered and the other one was the wrong size. I took them with my receipt and packing slip back to the store on main Street and the sales assistant said that he could not return them because the sku numbers did not match and I explained why they did not match because I was sent the wrong thing. He said there was nothing that he could do about it and good luck trying to get any result from management because there was nothing they could do about it either. So then he told me that he could not give me the price that I paid and I would have to accept the price that they rang up at. Which I did then he said he could not put it back on my credit card but would have to get me a gift card which I did not like at all! So now I just sat down to use my gift card and it is invalid. So not only did they short me the money that I spent in good faith. But then they also shorted me the money that they gave me on the gift card because now it does not work and of course I do not have the receipt! So frustrated and...
Read moreI like other Belk stores but this one is ALWAYS a disappointment. I went today to look at dresses, only because there are such slim pickings of places to shop in Summerville.
Their dress section is currently a cluster of four arm display racks with zero rhyme or reason for how they are set on the floor. They’re not organized by size, style or designer, and similar dresses scattered in different places so if you want that dress in a different size good luck finding it. The Ross across the street has an easier display to sort through and that’s saying something.
They only have one fitting room open in the whole store, comprised of four rooms. The ceiling vent in the fitting room has thick dust coating it and blowing around it like a windsock. The inside of the fitting room had the interior design of a jail cell. I felt grimy when I walked out of there.
I didn’t interact with any employees to speak on customer service, but I did see a long line for the register open in that section. I feel bad for the frontline employees because they have to know this place is a disaster. Management or corporate REALLY needs to step it up. Take pride in your store! In the very...
Read moreThis place is just overly expensive.always has been.when you are trying to sell belks brand of socks(3 pack) for $ 16.99,there better be some gold or diamonds of some sort with that price.everytime I go in there,I don't carry a purse just a fanny belt pouch, and someone is always watching me as if I'm shoplifting and for that,I'm very uncomfortable shopping in that place.lastly there clearance items are really not clearance priced because first off, there overpriced items and they take 10-50%off but the original price has been jacked up. I buy my beautiful Estee lauder perfume at belks and have for 30 years(that's all I wear) I stood at the E.L booth in my jeans and t-shirt with a cap on and she finished up with the one customer before me and turned around and started helping a woman who walked up after me(dressed with business attire) and totally ignored me. She knew I was there first. For that she missed a $125 perfume...
