We had my son’s first birthday party at Batavia on January 6th, 2024. We were so delighted with how everything turned out and the guests had an amazing time! We had access to the entire space for the party and comfortably fit over 50 people. We also hired an outside entertainer for the kids who made balloons, danced and did face painting and there was plenty of space for that as well. Mayron and his team were fabulous and planned every detail with us and were amenable to all of our requests. They catered and served the entire meal and we had numerous guests tell us how delicious the food was. There was plenty of food for everyone and we even had leftovers as well. It’s a BYO and they provided wine glasses and set up a beautiful bar area for easy self-service. We were able to decorate the space how we wanted and had access to the space a whole hour before the party and all day to drop things off the day of the party. Also, they stored our cake and helped us cut it for all guests and clean and pack it up at the end. They even kindly held some balloons for us until we could pick them up a week later. We would highly recommend this gorgeous venue and wonderful staff for all parties and private...
Read moreSo I ordered the spinach with goat cheese and chicken salad. While overall the salad tasted good, I was super disappointment with the lack of quantity of ingredients. It was as if the people making it had money coming out of this pockets while creating my salad....or as if I hadn’t paid for the salad myself. I paid exactly $15.95 for my salad. It’s supposed to come with oranges. I forgot about that until I ate a bite with it towards the end. That’s how scarce the ingredient was. Then I counted how many pieces there were, I had all of 3-4 pieces total, including the one I ate, of oranges. I paid an extra $2 for onions and tomatoes. Literally they took 3 cherry tomatoes and cut those in half. And I had probably 5 single slivers of red onion. The only good thing about this salad was the grilled chicken. Needless to say I’m super disappointed, enough that I’m actually writing my review while sitting in the establishment and finishing my salad. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Oh! And as I finished my salad, I totally forgot there was supposed to be goat cheese...
Read moreThis could be a classy place—the food is very good and the decor & ambience nice—but the dining experience sucks. So noisy at lunch, we chose to sit outside: the cashier gave us 3 plastic glasses (water & teas), 2 paper cups of soup with plastic lids, plastic utensils, 5-6 napkins, soup crackers—but without a tray of any kind. The water spilled on my way out the door, gripping the soup cup to remove the plastic lid caused it to squirt all over my pants, the light wind blew away the napkins and sucking soup from a plastic spoon is gross; at least the sandwich was delivered on a reusable dish they could wash. These days, a cafe in Summit should be more green, and more pleasant to eat in. ...
