Staying in Sunny Isles and thinking of stopping in Cut38 for a drink or bite to eat? Please save your time, dignity, and money and go literally anywhere else (Baires and Timo are great options if you are looking for awesome food, drinks, and excellent service).
It seems most of the recent reviews hit on the main issue here: management. We were on a long term stay in Sunny Isles and Cut38 was an easy/walkable option for a quick weekday drink and dinner. We visited a handful of times during off hours usually around 5pm and received solid service from AC and Jose who work the bar - big thank you to both of them for treating their customers like actual human beings.
Unfortunately, that's where the positives end - we had noticed a few times while at the bar that all of the managers (one blonde and one new manager a brunette named Joanna) were severely lacking customer services skills in their interactions with other customers. However, since we never had the displeasure of dealing with them directly, we never let it bother us. All that changed when myself and two friends came in around 8:30pm after having dinner on a Thursday night over at Time and we were just looking to stop in for a final drink and dessert. When we arrived, it was busy but since we weren't looking for a meal we just headed straight to the bar as we typically had done every time we visited in the past.
As soon as we went to sit down, we were informed by one bartender that due to COVID seating rules he would need to ask the couple next to us to move down a seat to ensure for proper social distancing. He asked us to wait one moment while he did so, and then we would be able to sit. This was no problem at all, as we are from Boston and we completely understand needing to stick to COVID protocol so we had no problem waiting a moment. As we were waiting, out of nowhere, the brunette manager Joanna appeared behind us and began assaulting our party saying that she "was the manager" and that we "weren't allowed to be seated". As you can imagine, we were quite confused and taken back by her overtly aggressive tone and body language.
She then escorted us out of the restaurant where she flagged down security (mind you we are 3 females who were in no way acting in a threatening manner) and then proceeded to interrogate us as to why we were trying to sit down at the bar. At this point, we were totally confused and despite our attempt to try and calmly explain to her our viewpoint, she continued to talk down to us for over 20 minutes. To top it off, the owner then proceeded to come outside and told us that "the conversation was over" and barked at Joanna to "get back inside and do her job".
We were left feeling totally clueless and disrespected, and at that point we called it a night and headed home. I can't stress enough to everyone reading this: please do not come spend your money here. There are better places in Sunny Isles that don't have managers and owners who shame and embarrass their customers in order to satisfy...

5-Star Review for Cut 38 in Aventura, Florida
My recent experience at Cut 38 in Aventura was nothing short of exceptional, earning every bit of a five-star rating!
The top secret manager was an excellent host as was the lovely young lady from Argentina who provided exceptional advice on wine selections. She suggested an Italian Pinot Grigio which was outstanding.
From the moment I walked in, the ambiance struck the perfect balance of modern elegance and warm hospitality. The sleek decor, paired with attentive yet unobtrusive service, set the stage for an unforgettable early afternoon.
The menu at Cut 38 shown to me by the charming manager is a masterclass in culinary artistry, with every dish showcasing premium ingredients and impeccable technique. He stated that the steaks are cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Each course, from the vibrant starters to the decadent desserts, thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented, making it clear why this spot is a gem in Aventura’s dining scene.
What truly elevated the experience, however, was their outstanding wine selection. The bar server guided me through an impressive list that catered to every palate, but the standout was the Pinot Grigio from Venezia. This wine was a revelation—crisp, refreshing, and bursting with bright citrus and subtle stone fruit notes, with a delicate minerality that complemented my palate.
It is an ideal pairing for the lighter dishes, enhancing every bite with its clean, well-balanced profile. The wine list as a whole is a testament to Cut 38’s commitment to quality, offering a curated selection that ranges from bold reds to elegant whites, with the Venezia Pinot Grigio stealing the show. The staff’s knowledge and passion for both the food and wine made the evening even more special. They were eager to share insights about the menu and pairings, ensuring every choice felt personalized. The attention to detail, from the pacing of the meal to the flawless presentation, made us feel truly pampered.
Cut 38 is a must-visit for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience in Aventura. The combination of exquisite cuisine, an exceptional wine selection—highlighted by the unforgettable Venezia Pinot Grigio—and impeccable service makes this restaurant a standout. I’m already looking forward to my next visit with my cast and crew from thELight I film premiering at the Cannes 2026.

Read moreI recently visited Cut 38 Steakhouse and found it to be a generally satisfying dining experience, though not without a few minor drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of my visit:
The atmosphere at Cut 38 is upscale yet comfortable, with a modern decor that feels inviting. The lighting is dim but not too dark, creating a pleasant dining environment perfect for a date night or a celebratory meal. The seating is comfortable, and the tables are well-spaced, offering a good balance of privacy and a lively buzz from the other patrons.
The service was attentive and professional, though it did feel a bit rushed at times. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made some excellent recommendations. However, there were moments when it took a while to get their attention for refills or additional requests, which slightly detracted from the overall experience.
The star of the show at any steakhouse is, of course, the steak, and Cut 38 delivers a solid performance. The cuts of meat were high quality, cooked to the requested doneness, and flavorful. The New York strip I ordered was tender and juicy, with a perfect sear. The accompanying sides, such as the truffle mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, were tasty, though not particularly memorable. The appetizers, like the shrimp cocktail and crab cakes, were fresh and well-prepared, setting a positive tone for the meal.
Dessert options were indulgent and satisfying. The chocolate lava cake was rich and decadent, while the cheesecake had a nice balance of sweetness and tanginess. They were a great way to end the meal on a high note.
Cut 38 is on the pricier side, which is expected for a steakhouse of this caliber. While the quality of the food and ambiance justifies the cost to some extent, it might not be the best value for money compared to other steakhouses in the same price range.
Cut 38 Steakhouse is a good choice for those looking to enjoy a quality steak in a stylish setting. While there are a few areas for improvement, particularly in service, the overall experience is positive. I would recommend it for special occasions or when you're in the mood for a satisfying...
