Good food but bad service 3rd visit.
Note: Had good experience the first 2 times. Hopefully this is one off bad experience and owners take action to improve.
Missed to serve 8 items on the menu kerala sadhi meals menu. (Pazhampuzha, inji puli, Kootu curry, Upperi, Sharkara Varatti, Ghee, puranpoli and roti)
Asked the waitress respectfully. She listened to our question, went back to kitchen to check and came back from kitchen, went past our table ignoring us with face looking other way
Noticed that other folks who ordered same thing were served the missed dishes. Additionally, Asked 2nd waitress to confirm if what they had in the menu is accurate and she did confirm it’s accurate.
Following the confirmation, asked if that will be served to me. She initially went defensive said they served all items and nothing was missed. Funny part is that if she had observed our table she could have noticed the missing pot for roti and missing plate for Puran poli in our table. Does she think people would lie to get free food?
Anyway, later they served my poli and roti. Still missed other 6 items. As rational, Pointing a different item in the menu (fresh banana as pazham pori fritters and vazhaikai thoran as upperi. I didn’t want to argue or fight and create unpleasant situations for other customers. Just accepted the response and moved on.
More than the missing items that’s disappointing, the carelessness in service, defensive attitude and excuses provided was the most shocking part about this. Busy restaurant is not an excuse for poor service. One of the main reason for people to “Dine in” is for service.
Hopefully owners read this and take action to improve their restaurant service and in general address the sterotype that Indian restaurants provides...
Read moreThis new food joint in California has quickly become a standout spot for South Indian cuisine, and it truly lives up to the hype. Having tried several established restaurants in Cupertino like Kovai Café and Abhiruchi, I can honestly say the flavors here surpass them. The authenticity and consistency of the food set it apart, making it a must-visit for anyone who enjoys South Indian dishes.
What impressed me most was the balance this place has achieved between quality, taste, and affordability. The ambiance is casual yet inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere whether you’re dining in with friends or grabbing a quick meal. Despite offering top-notch flavors, the prices are very reasonable, which makes the experience even better.
We ordered the rava dosa, paneer bhurji dosa, and thatte idli, and every single item was exceptional. The rava dosa was perfectly crisp and flavorful, the paneer bhurji dosa had a rich and savory filling that blended beautifully with the dosa, and the thatte idli was soft, fluffy, and comforting—just the way it should be. Each dish highlighted the attention to detail and the authentic touch of traditional South Indian cooking.
Overall, this place has raised the bar for South Indian food in the Bay Area. If you’re looking for delicious flavors, a pleasant ambiance, and fair pricing, I highly recommend checking it out. It’s easily one of the best new additions to the food scene here and a spot I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience dining in this Indian restaurant. The place was clean, beautifully decorated, and had authentic Indian music playing in the background, which made the atmosphere feel very genuine. The staff were all very friendly, especially the lovely lady at the reception. Everyone seemed to be originally from India, which added to the authenticity.
I ordered the Thali, which was my first time trying this type of Indian meal — it's a combo of various small dishes served together. I was surprised by how much food there was! The portions were very generous, and the price was incredibly reasonable for what I got. I really enjoyed the variety — there were both liquid and solid dishes, and each had its own unique flavor.
One highlight was the pickle — it had this tangy, slightly sour taste that was absolutely delicious. Some of the dishes were quite spicy for me (as someone not used to Indian food), but it wasn't a bad thing at all. They also included a small bowl of yogurt or sour cream, which really helped cool things down. The chef even came out to ask if I enjoyed the meal — which was such a nice personal touch.
Another great thing is that they serve different types of Thali depending on the day of the week, so I definitely want to come back and try more. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food or wants to try it for...
