It's been years since we've gone here. I have to admit, the prices scared me a bit at first. Over $7 for a hot dog, and closer to $8 for a burger. When I say a hot dog and a burger that's exactly what I mean. No sides or drinks. Our bill for my wife and I after splitting fries and 2 sodas, $26. Now I've spent more on lunch but that was for more upscale food. After saying all that, the food was fantastic! Also, you get all the condiments and extra toppings for free. Fries were cajun seasoned, excellent and fresh cut on site! My wife is not a burger person but thoroughly enjoyed her small burger. My hotdog was an all beef dog, split and grilled. It was supposed to be with bacon and cheese with the free jalapenos but they forgot the cheese. Oh no! No prob. I went to the counter, told them my problem, and the nice lady jumped on it. I didn't just get a slice of cheese, which would have been perfectly fine with me. The nice lady threw it on the griddle, got it just to the melting point, and brought it to me and placed it on my dog. THATS service! All in all I'd say it was worth my $$. They had freestyle coke machines but no diet Dr. Pepper. That's ok, I've cut down on soda anyway. Give 5 Guys a try and you...
Read moreMy husband loves this place! He recently experienced In-N-Out for the first time and completely fell in love. This is the place in STL that replaces it for him.
It's not unusual that once every month or so, around 9p at night, my husband gets a craving for this place. And that's exactly what happened the other night. We hadn't eaten much of a dinner and I'm always up for a burger, so I agreed!
I decided to go with a double, which was definitely more than enough food when you're also splitting a large fry. I loved the fact that I could get my burger lettuce-wrapped and that I could get the single most important burger topping: bacon. The burger was juicy and delicious! The fries we got cajun style. The seasoning is awesome enough that you don't need ketchup or any other kind of dip!
They use peanut oil for their fries. I can't say I'm a fan of peanut oil, but I'm not really a fan of vegetable oil, either. So what's the difference, really?
This is a great place if you're in the mood for fast food. The people were friendly and...
Read moreI eat at Five Guys alot all over the country. This has got to be the worst Five Guys in America. I ordered lunch online today. Upon entering the store to pick it up there were 5 employees behind the counter and 2 other customers in the store. My food was bagged and waiting on the shelf behind the counter. Mind you it was the one and only online order waiting to be picked up. The employees just silently stared at me as I stood in the designated pick up area. When I finally got my food I had to wait for someone to come out the backroom to make my shake?? This man never washed his hands prior to entering the food prep area from the backroom. The milk shake was a warm coagulated cup of brown colored liquid. The fries tasted like rotten potatoes straight out the dumpster. The sandwich had a weird after taste like the grill it was made on was not cleaned properly. These folks are just serving people anything. Thank God I saw a Shake Shack opening up across the street because...
