Terrible experience. I went in to grab dinner. I was waiting for my food at table 3. A young employee brought me my food and I headed off home. After getting home I opened the bag and had received the wrong order. No big deal. I hopped back in the car and drove back. While driving I called to let them know I was given the wrong food. I told the initial employee I had received the wrong order and she passed me on to an employee, I believe was named Elizabeth. This, I am assuming management employee, rudely explained that they had called out the name Emily and that I had taken the wrong food. She stated they had tried to stop me. I reminded her that I was sitting at a table on my phone and that they had brought the food to me. She ignored the fact and repeated that they had tried to stop me. I then asked if my order was still there and if I could get it. She replied yes and decided to let me know they had to remake “Emily’s” order. I was the only person in the restaurant, I’m a 6ft 180 lbs male. My guess is the kid didn’t look at the receipt and recognize that I couldn’t be Emily. My round trip return was 20 minutes. My food was cold by then. The “management” couldn’t even admit their mistake and chose to blame me. Mistakes happen all the time. It isn’t a big deal. I wasn’t looking for anything but my actual meal. How we handle our mistakes dictates who we are and how we live our lives. In the case of a business, how you treat your customers and how you handle your mistakes not only reflects on the employee that handled the issue but also on the business as a whole. I will never eat at this establishment again. To the credit of the young man who took my order, and accidentally brought me the wrong order, he apologized when I showed up to get my correct meal. Perhaps the owner should promote him as a replacement for the management on duty on the 27...
Read moreI waited for my take out order for ages. After 40 minutes they still hadnt called my name, and i was sitting right in view of the counter. After nearly an hour i went up and asked how my order was going, only to find the person manning the counter didnt know what i was talking about. Eventually they found my order had been made and stashed away for who knows how long, and my food had gone lukewarm. I want to reiterate: i was there the entire time, and they did not even glance in my direction let alone call out my order. The other staff member, who had actually taken my order, would not even turn around to acknowledge the person manning the counter when he asked them if they knew where my order had gone.
I am thankful to the person manning the counter for (unlike the person who actually took my order) actually looking around and finally finding my order, but otherwise my time and money were wasted. While waiting for my order i found all the tables were absolutely gross and sticky and covered in trash--and this was during a lull, this was not a busy rush period for the restaurant, i was one of maybe three or four people, most of which were already eating, when i made my order.
and, to be honest, the food tasted like garbage. Even when accounting for it being cold by the time i got it home.
i absolutely will never eat at this place again, and i hope to warn other people off of wasting...
Read moreI used to love this place growing up in the south Austin area, food was always super tasty, fresh, and quick. Alas, times change. We waited patiently for 40 minutes before asking what was going on. Apparently they chose to turn off the grill so the repair man could work on it in the middle of service. Appliances fail understandably, but the staff didn’t even come out from behind their counter to tell the 3 parties waiting 40+ minutes why it was taking so long. They just let incomplete orders sit there until the rest was done and didn’t bother to remake anything so it was fresh. When we finally tried our food an hour later it was lukewarm, bland and flavorless, seriously lacking in salt and sauce. Extremely boring compared to what we’ve made at home and you can make way more portion wise at home so firebowl is no longer worth it when you consider how easy it is to make americanized asian food these days. There are plenty of frozen pan asian meals fresher and more flavorful than the food we got at Firebowl so we ended up throwing it away. What a wasteful shame also that they put each of our 6 fresh rolls into their own individual plastic boxes with their own individual plastic sauce containers instead of just using some...
