I really don't know about restaurants and customer service these days. So much has changed... and management do not seem to understand or take ownership of the problem. Our table service (reluctant to call the person who takes the order the waiter/waitress or server) took out orders without writing the order down on a ticket or note pad. This is where the problems occur. If the order is not written down, how are the kitchen staff supposed to remember? I ordered Sirloin and Alice Springs chicken... a 6oz sirloin paired with a small chicken breast which looked nothing like it was advertised on the menu. For side, I ordered loaded backed potato and green beans.
Food arrives at the table and there are no green beans. Is that the table service or the kitchens fault?
Who's to know? It was never written down when the order was placed.
I call the table service over and tell them. They say they'll have it out shortly. Kitchen manager comes to the table and asks what the problem is and I tell him, no green beans.
10 mins later the green beans come out. Now in 10 mins, most of my entree is cold. I've been eating at it because I want to enjoy my meal... the whole of my meal including the beans. When I get the beans, they are not cooked. They are crunchy, not al dente, but hard, raw not cooked with a little warm water on them?
Disappointed? You bet. Meal ruined, but they took off the price of the green beans. Meal still ruined.
Management do not get it at all. Get the table service to write down the order. Give the order to the kitchen, kitchen reads order. Kitchen prepared food, verifies order is complete, table service collects order... Double checks the order and delivers it to the customer complete. Food cooked properly. Customer happy, leaves a tip. Customer not happy, no tip.
And why the heck do they still pretend to be an Australian type restaurant with Australian references to the food and commercials with an announcer with an Australian accent. They are based out of Florida and there is nothing Australian about Outback...
Read moreWent here with a large party (who I believe planned ahead) and there was a wait to be seated..which I didn’t have an issue with. They did however mix up the seating (I don’t know who made the error us or them) but we were scrambling around trying to figure out how to seat about 15-20ish “adults” plus needed 3 high chairs. And at first they were sorta like oh well cause we need the aisle clear. It was kinda chaotic and they sat us right near the kitchen so there wasn’t much wiggle room because they needed to be able to get in and out of the aisles easily. I feel like the staff could have done better to accommodate on another day just poor circumstances that day—like two other parties of 15+ earlier that day (per our server). I think our waitress was Kayla? She was very nice and seemed to handle a large party with a general ease and polite attitude. It took them about 20 minutes to figure out drinks (who had what) and maybe 30-40 mins for food to come out. They didn’t have what I originally wanted and the steak I got was overcooked. The food/drink runners seemed very overwhelmed and possibly inexperienced? The server who passed me my drink handed me the receipt too and needed it back. One lady was struggling to tell the 6 oz from 12 oz or fiIet from whatever else. And then they weren’t sure whose steak was supposed to be cooked to which temperature. The staff appeared to just be exhausted. I think 2-3 people with our party complained about the food, so I wasn’t going to say anything about my food. The staff had to be tired enough already. Next time I hope to go with a smaller crowd on a not so busy day and see if the...
Read moreWe drove all day (11/23/22) from Orlando, Fl. to meet with my son and his family to enjoy a good meal at your restaurant at about 7pm. We ordered the "center cut" steak, 2 small medium cooked and 2 large medium well (11 oz.). We waited a little longer then normal to receive our order, no problem there. But, as we cut into our 11oz. steaks, both were so rare and red they could of Mooed! I wanted to return them, but my family didn't want to complain, and thought that "Nasty" things might happen to them if they were sent back to the kitchen grill? My son reluctantly finished his steak, I couldn't even finish my steak and asked for a "doggie bag" so I could finish cooking it in my hotel room micro wave oven. The next day my wife just through it out; Wasted! I spent over a $100.00 dollars for 4 adults and a child. We left a $20.00 dollar tip, because the male server was excellent and he did not screw-up the cooking process. I still feel "Ripped Off", I could of cooked way better than the cook you had on duty that night! It ruined a family reunion that night for me, But, only that night. I did not make any scene as I left the restaurant, upset and angry. I searched and found on the way out a business card with the managers name on it; Shawn Gaskins. I have never before took the time to complain about any restaurant, even my outback here in Orlando, which has always been great, till my visit to this location. I just had to voice my opinion because I know that outback restaurants have a high standard to maintain. Thanks for...
