Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Swatara Township

Worst experience ever at a tropical smoothie cafe! My partner and I frequently visit this chain because it is one of our favorites. When we entered this establishment there was no one to be found and 2 other guests waiting ahead of us. Finally a man came to take orders. When we went to place our order the man just stared at us no hello, no what can we get for you today, just a blank stare. I ordered our food and when my partner requested her smoothie be a child size (because that’s what every other tropical smoothie has always done for us) he said “no only one size”. I ordered some supplements in my smoothie. There were only jalapeño chips and some sun chips available for selection as a side. We got our food to go and left. While drinking my smoothie I kept getting huge chunks of fruit that could not be sucked through the straw. THEN I sucked up a HUGE chunk of the supplements I ordered. I spit that out thinking it was only one that didn’t blend right. Only to get a mouthful more. At which point I threw my smoothie away with a horrible taste of powdery supplements in my mouth. They obviously did not take the time to blend this smoothie to specifications. Our sandwiches weren’t cut to eat more easily and were sloppily made. I am highly disappointed in this location as we have enjoyed this exact same meal several times at other tropical smoothie locations and stopped here on a trip thinking we would get the same quality. Me and my twin sister got a smoothie here, and she also got some food. Her food and smoothie were good apparently, but mine wasn't the best. Not bad, just... alright. I drank it anyway but I didn't really like it. I think it was called a Sunset-something? It was supposed to have strawberries, orange juice, and I think pineapples or something else in it. But it just tasted like muted orange. It wasn't sweet, just dull. The staff were nice, this one guy (he looked like a manager, but I'm not sure) gave the customer in front of us a box to carry her big order, which was nice. They don't respond to job applications, though. Even after you call about an application. I never got a response from them, not even just an email saying I wasn't getting an interview. This restaurant has really gone down hill when it comes to employees. The first issue I had when I recently went to this location was, being greeted by a grumpy teenager that immediately appeared like he hated his job. This individual did not know how to use the card reader and proceeded to tell me if I do not have a cash I cannot receive my order. Which was inconvenient but understandable. Now this time I decide to go and I am greeted by an older gentleman that had nearly the same demeanor. I asked him if i may receive the chips I paid for with my meal and he notified me that I did not pay for them then proceeded to hand me a smoothie that was 50 parts yogurt and 2 parts fruit with gritty powder on the bottom.
