If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
I brought my daughter here on Saturday for her birthday. The plan was for all the teenagers to go play while the adults sat down at a table (I also have a baby girl just under 2, so she was going to stay with us). My husband approached the seating area and they were reluctant to sit us down with tables so close together (Covid compliant). They ended up accommodating us, but our assigned waitress told us about 3 different times that in order for us to sit there we had to eat. I was carrying my daughter, clearly unable to look at a menu (this entire area is driven by their app). The tables were dirty by the way, visibly dirty, and yet she had the audacity to say that they were already wiped down. Whatever, I get it they are short staffed. So the 4th time in which she approached us to remind us we had to eat in order to keep the table, I asked her for a high chair so we could look at the menu. We had to use the app, which makes you pay for each item as you order, but then she would come and tell us to leave the tab open so she was getting frustrated with that. We waited about 45 minutes for just water. No utensils or napkins were given to us. And finally when she brought napkins (it was quite a few of us) she brought like 6. A table opened up behind us and the group of teenagers who went to play were hungry. I asked if they could sit and she said yes, only to find out the other waiter comes to say “no they cannot sit because they need to eat”. Everything was just so complicated. I found the manager to bring these things to his attention (he tried to shake my hand, I couldn’t because I had no napkins to clean my hands - was eating ribs). Once he got involved everything was manageable after that. But what a coincidence that I ended up with food poisoning. I’m the only one that got sick (I ate ribs and fries, didn’t even get through the whole plate because the food was not great). Not that I expected a gourmet meal but I figured ribs was a safe plate to order at this kind of place. Whatever. It’s a shame because I have brought my kids here for many years. Their gaming experience was fine but DO NOT EAT HERE. Go have fast food or eat at one of the real restaurants in the mall before...
Read moreEdit: The previous review was made YEARS ago. Since then this Dave n Buster's has greatly improved itself. Their food quality has gone up a lot since then and we are regulars once more to this location. Yes it had a lot of food problems in the past but that's not the case anymore. Their food is something I wholeheartedly advise you go for now if the food at the food court isn't to your liking.
OLD REVIEW BELOW ‐-----------------------------------------
My little sister ordered a steak + mashed potatoes that cost her 19 USD not including taxes. That wouldn't have been a problem if the steak was n't mostly fat, and if the portion size for the mashed potatoes wasn't disgustingly tiny. When she first received the plate she saw the tiny portion of mashed potatoes that she got, and we asked our waiter to have it switched to something else since you know, 19 USD is a good sum of money for food regardless of where you go to order. please keep in mind, this was before we found out the steak was mainly fat. The waiter responded as nicely as possible, explaining that the food can only be returned if something with the food itself is wrong (Turns out that's an utter lie, found that out later after speaking with family about my experience). Later on when she finally started to cut at the steak and began to eat, I saw her having to cut out so much fat from the steak, and she told me it was barely seasoned (it tasted very bland from the bite she gave me). When she took all the fat out finally, what was left of the steak was something just a little bit bigger than the palm of my hand.
What sucks is that including her drinks, her bill amounted to around 24 USD, when in the same mall you can go to the food court and get a bigger sized meal for 10-14 dollars.
That, and the carpet around the bar was STICKY. I had to clean my shoes when I got home because of the amount of sticky substance that stuck to my shoe after we left D&B
No one in my family is going back to eat at the D&B, we plan to only eat outside now and play the...
Read moreMy friends and I recently went to Dave & Buster's at Dolphin Mall for a birthday celebration, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the start, the waitress was completely uncommunicative about how to split the bill for our group of 17. We were left to figure out on our own that a three-way split between tables would be easiest. That was the least of our issues.
One of our friends has a gluten allergy, and the menu clearly advertised a cauliflower flatbread option. When the food came out, it was a regular flatbread. There was no warning or apology; it was only after we pointed out the error that the waitress casually informed us they’ve never had cauliflower flatbread. Then a manager got involved, only to tell us they used to have it but had run out. Both explanations were completely unacceptable—especially when it comes to food allergies. This lack of communication was infuriating.
At the end of the meal, things only got worse. Despite us instructing the waitress to split the bill between the three tables, she lumped it all onto two people. This created an absolute mess. Although the manager was helpful in addressing it, he acknowledged the chaos was entirely due to their error. To make matters worse, we noticed an extra $60 charge labeled “other” after we'd already paid and left. When we returned to ask what this was, the manager admitted it was another mistake and handed us the $60 back in cash.
We also requested a cake to be brought out secretly with a candle for the birthday boy. What did the waitress do? She awkwardly asked who the cake was for right in front of him and plopped it on the table with no candle—completely ruining the surprise.
All in all, it was a disappointing, chaotic experience from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone, especially for a special occasion. Dave & Buster’s dropped the ball on...
