We were never offered any take home pastas, wines or had a check back about dessert (which was less than satisfactory). The service started out almost (but not quite) polite, then became painfully neutral only to dissolve into being mostly ignored. The table next to us got over the top attention and extras not offered to any other table that we could observe. The bear minimal, faux politeness was the norm observed for most tables. The extreme proximity of the all tables made it rather obvious that the server had preferences and the more she fussed over the one adjacent table, the more ignored were the rest. We were always polite, kind & respectful (no different than any other time we have dined at Maggiano's or any location) and were quite looking forward to our dining experience. We travel nearly two hours just to eat here and normally have an amazing evening. We have bragged about the incredible service and amazing food to all. Sadly, if had this been our first visit it would have been our last. Food: the cherry chocolate cake (seasonal) had very little cherry and some awful gritty texture that made it feel like I was eating seeds. Would not recommend unless you like grit in your desert. The flavor was bland and that was a surprise considering how amazing their desserts usually taste. The spaghetti was top notch but I ordered meat sauce and was given a meatball. I was afraid to tell the server I did not order one or ask for a correction. I just shoved it aside. Earlier, when I did ask for a side of sauce as my pasta was a little on the dry side, I got the sauce but the dish was not gently placed on the table. I do not want to say it was deliberately dropped or infer that it was, but I definitely got the hint and did not ask for anything extra the rest of the night. The baked ziti was top notch. The crab cakes were amazing and I would return there just to eat these. All the portions were generous and filling. The bread was on the dry side and felt like the baker used too much flour. We did not eat what we had and normally we beg for more. Conclusion : Would not recommend the cherry cake. Would recommend the spaghetti and ziti. Would not recommend the bread or server.

Mixed review for me here. Date night with my lovely wife. Service was good, my complaints are nit picky like when I ran out of water and the waitress walks by and fills up my water glass but not my wife's half empty glass I apparently made a face because another server saw me and came over to make sure everything was ok, weird I know but having been in the restaurant business it just perplexed me why a server would do that. Otherwise the service was quite good. When the food was good it was great, and far exceeded expectations. When it was not good it was bad. Our side Caesar salads had slimy old lettuce in it and very brown pieces which the server promptly took away. The calamari was ok but slightly undercooked and had a little fishy taste. The fried zucchini was phenomenal, fried mozzarella was fast better than anticipated, and while it's weird the margherita did not have onions but it was fantastic as well. My wife had the Branzino and it was good, one piece was kinda skinny and less flavorful, one piece was robust with great flavor. I had the chicken Francese which there was a misunderstanding which the server caught thank goodness their broth had onions so they made me a fresh from with a homemade fresh on the spot lemon butter sauce which was good. The sides were mostly good with the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus, not so much for the vesuvio potatoes. Dessert was kinda disappointing. We got the lemon cake which was huge but had a weird not good texture and flavor profile, the berry compote made it better but barely passable for edible. The atmosphere was good we were put upstairs which was nice and quite vs downstairs and had a more intimate feel. But we missed the decor from downstairs and the view of people out the windows. The 2 servers seemed overwhelmed at times and rushed being the only 2 upstairs. Good visit we look forward to more dates at Maggianos. We did get the $6 add on for pasta to take home each but haven't had them yet. I'll review those later. Stay tuned.

The food is AMAZING... staff, not so much. In two visits I was passed over multiple times asking for lemons. Was told by a newly hired person that the oil plate was discontinued due to COVID in spite of just partaking less than 96 hours prior. I think the type of service you get is wholly based on how you look and who is serving. There's been a mixed bag both times. Other than that, portions are huge. Food tastes and mouth feels are phenomenal. Sustainable take home cartons. It came out with enough time between courses hot, fresh and enough that if you choose to pay the $6. for the take home entree you have meals for a couple of days. My wife had the grand margarita... 2 of them, they grilled a lime and smoked the foam the aromatics were tantalizing. I had never experienced that before. Both times I had the Peach Bellini... That $#!π will make you wanna take your S/O in the bathroom and 🐇🐇💥🍆 💦🌊 with and without the noise 😳😲🤑... 🤨 Not too peachy, very subtle and frozen. I had no hangover, with a great lasting buzz. I went first with a friend who introduced me to this place and fell in love and brought my wife back 4 days later. During the day it was a ghost town, still very pleasant except the staff was negligent and/or biased. The evening saw me upstairs which was wonderful as well... Except the staff making up stuff. If you're not aware of practice and procedure... just say that... I still tipped well. They suggested the salmon and that made up for a lot of the faux pas. I do appreciate that they had already tried several dishes and could accurately describe ingredients and how the flavors meld from their own personal experience. That in my opinion is lacking these days. So very appreciative of that. Ty, B. ... You know who you are. They also made me a new fan of mushrooms. That credit solely... is for B. 💕 and the Chef.👨🏾‍🍳🔪😘🫶🏾

Magianos actual dining experience was good. Our waitress, Jamie, was spot on. Attentive to our needs at table, helpful with menu and understanding and helpful with allergy needs for those in our party. I would have rated the service as a whole higher if the supporting services as mentioned below were worthy of it. But like I said Jamie was a great waitress. Sous chef came out and explained how things were cooked and what menu options were open. We opted for the Family style dining. The food was ok. The baked ziti was on the salty side, the chicken and spinach manicotti was very rich. Liked lasagna and the meatballs were good as was the fettuccini. The fried zucchini fritte and sauce was good. So long as you have a healthy appetite the family dining option is a good way to go.

Had to make a reservation for our event. Requested time and booth, however upon arrival the hostess was on the problematic/attitude side where we were told can’t guarantee a booth, to which I replied uhhhh no, I have a reservation which you required… if I have to wait a few minutes either side of my time that’s ok but when we show up an hour before hand for drinks and check in, to be told we might not get what we reserved isn’t on at all.

During the meal no management/leadership came to check in on us but did see him walk around.

Wasn’t impressed with the service at the bar. Not one open space at the bar or ability to elbow in to order drinks (had to order over top of those sitting at bar which I felt was rude). The barman was more interested in serving drinks to those people than taking an order while waiting for a table. Being 6’4 it’s not easy to be accidentally not noticed so I took more of being ignored. Our party had 4 people one of which was the desig driver and wanted coffee, when ordering at bar didn’t appreciate the perceived airs and graces over that, appeared an inconvenience or. “Hey man this is a bar, type attitude. While we’re talking about the drinks they are stupid expensive. I wouldn’t select this place for a drinks option based on that. Utilized the coat check however, the attitude of the hostess at time of claiming coats was not professional. Appears possibly the end of her shift, had her own coat on and seemed to be heading out the door, appeared no one else immediately around to back her up I had to go look for someone. When I asked about the coats I was told I’d have to ask someone else??!! For the price of the experience and overall service I wasn’t impressed. The food as a whole was okay to good, however the supporting team needs some considerable work to make me want to come back on a more regular basis other than a once a year/birthday event. Parking has never been great at this place, allow plenty of time to...

I loved Magianos and usually went 2 or 3 times a year as a treat for special occasions. Been going on New Years Eve for several years now but I was so disappointed in service and the food tonight I am not sure if we will ever be back. 1st the menu has changed dramatically since I was last there in October. Many favorites are no longer available. I have gluten allergy and have to order my meal gf. Our waiter never asked about allergies like most waiters do when discussing the menu. Not a big deal because I know what I can have. But then looking at the menu my normal order was not in the menu any more (Rigatoni Arrabbiata) which was the best tasting gluten free sauce ever. So I waited to talk to the waiter. He informed me all the sauces are gf just substitute for the gf penne pasta. (I knew that but since a big menu changed I wanted to reverify) He also pointed out to me one of the specialty pastas that would taste similar to my favorite dish. He said we can add chicken and spinach and it's basically the same. I agreed to try it... When my food came out I noticed the pasta was not gluten free (thank God). By the time I got my new plate half my party was finished eating. The taste was similar but not as good. It was still satisfying compared to just marinara sauce though. We then got the bill. The up charge for everything was insane and never once were we warned of it. They took away the dish that was amazing and replaced it with a meatless dish just so they can upcharge to a ridiculous amt for pasta. My husband and I get the Marcos deal. There used to be an upcharge of $5 for specialty pastas but now it's $7. (Which I was aware of that.) But on top of that they charged $6.50 for chicken and $3.50 for spinach. Not a single warning about upcharging when our waiter suggested the additions. And the waiter mentioned the dish accommodations like he does all the time. The price for that dish I could have ordered the filet. Chicken pasta dishes should never be that much. I loved going there for a treat of something different with amazing flavor when it came to GF pasta but sorry we are already talking about somewhere else for next year. Very disappointed in the menu changes and very disappointed that I got my food so late. No manager concerned about my food allergies and the sickness that it could have caused if I didn't notice the wrong pasta... and then we were overcharged in my opinion for a subpar dish comparable to the dish they got rid of. My favorite place to eat has now become a memory. This...

I had a Valentine’s Day reservation for the Maggiano’s at Kenwood Mall. My girlfriend and I were very excited for this Valentine’s Day meal and had talked about it all week. We both agreed that we should enjoy the entire dinner as much as we can and not rush anything given it was Valentine’s Day. As we walked in, we were quickly seated on the upstairs level. My girlfriend had not been to Maggiano’s before so she needed to take some time to look over the menu to find exactly what she wanted. Our waiter came and introduced himself and asked us if we’d like to put in any appetizers or drinks. We declined to get any drinks and said we were looking at a few appetizers and may need some more time. About two minutes later, our waiter had come back and he asked if we were ready to order our appetizer and food. Given that we were trying to enjoy this dinner and the time spent with one another we were unsure whether we wanted to order just yet. The waiter suggested that it may be better to get the orders in earlier rather than later just because the place was very busy. This made sense to both my girlfriend and I, however, this went against us wanting to stretch out the duration of our dinner. We went ahead and put in our appetizer and main entrees. Our server noted that our appetizer will arrive before our entrees so we will have time to enjoy it. We also noticed that other tables had butter and herbs served with their bread. The only thing we were given for our bread was oil. About 15-20 minutes we put our entree order in, our entrees were served to us without our appetizer arriving. My girlfriend grew a bit frustrated knowing that we weren't even given our appetizer and we had already been served our main entrees after being at Maggiano's for only 30 minutes or so. We called over our waiter and informed him that our appetizer failed to be given to us and he politely offered to take the appetizer off our meal due to the inconvenience. Our appetizer later came while we were eating our entrees. Our entrees were very good and we had no issues with them. However, the nature of feeling extremely rushed at a special occasion dinner where we wanted to enjoy it is our main concern with the service. Our experience wasn't a disaster by any means, but we do wish it would've gone...
